Within the activities of the Department of Scientific Affairs and as part of the requirements of the research project "The Role of Universities in Confronting Internal Changes," under the direct supervision of the University President, the administration of the Department of Scientific Affairs, represented by the department director, Dr. Tariq Jawad Kazem, along with the department staff, collaborated with the Sustainability Department and the Anesthesia Techniques Department, in effective cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture in Babil. They organized a tree planting campaign aimed at addressing the challenges of climate change.
The campaign included the planting of 160 plants of various species, including Eucalyptus, Casuarina, Dedonia, and Albizia. This joint effort reflects the university's vision in taking effective steps towards improving the environment in Iraq, highlighting its prominent role in facing environmental challenges and actively contributing to addressing the impacts of climate change. The plants were carefully selected, considering their appropriate water consumption and their ability to resist drought.
These efforts are part of the university's commitment to achieving leadership in implementing high-quality projects that serve Babil province and actively contribute to the sustainable development of Iraq as a whole. These initiatives reflect the university's commitment to providing effective and sustainable contributions in the field of environmental protection and promoting environmental sustainability at the local and national levels.
