Policy Clauses

1 Article 1: General Principles for Student Assessment
1. Assessment is aligned with learning outcomes specified in each course. 2. Assessment methods and tools are diversified to encompass knowledge, skills, and values. 3. Transparency and fairness principles are applied in grading and score distribution. 4. Question difficulty is graduated according to Bloom's taxonomy classification. 5. Feedback is provided to enable students to improve academic performance.
2 Article 2: Types of Assessment Employed
1. Written examinations: short quizzes, midterm examinations, final examinations. 2. Oral examinations assessing presentation and discussion skills. 3. Practical examinations for applied courses. 4. Continuous assessment including projects, research, participation, and assignments.
3 Article 3: Grade Distribution Policy
1. Continuous assessment: variable percentage (assignments, projects, quizzes, participation). 2. Midterm examination: variable percentage. 3. Final examination: variable percentage. 4. Specific percentages are determined by the College Council according to course nature and ministerial directives.
4 Article 4: Construction of Examination Questions
1. Questions are designed to cover specified learning outcomes. 2. Question diversity encompasses both objective and essay formats. 3. Questions are distributed according to Bloom taxonomy levels:  Knowledge and comprehension: 30%  Application and analysis: 40%  Synthesis and evaluation: 30% 4. Questions are reviewed by the department chair prior to approval.
5 Article 5: Monitoring Assessment Quality
1. Random review of examination papers by the Quality Committee. 2. Analysis of results to identify problems in questions or assessment methodologies. 3. Student satisfaction surveys regarding assessment methods.
6 Article 6: Feedback Provision
1. Students receive detailed results and corrective comments. 2. Individual or group review sessions are conducted.
7 Article 7: Objection and Reassessment Procedures
1. Objections may be submitted within three business days of result announcement. 2. An independent objections committee is established. 3. Decisions are announced within five days from the date of objection.
8 Article 8: Policy Update and Monitoring
1. The policy is reviewed annually by the Quality Assurance department . 2. Annual reports are prepared on assessment methodologies and analysis results. 3. The university commits to implementing directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
