Energy Research Center Staff Conclude Specialized Training on "Renewable Energy & Solar PV Systems" at the Iraqi Engineers Union

In alignment with the Energy Research Center’s strategic plan to enhance the field expertise of its research staff and bridge the gap between academic output and practical application, the Center’s team has successfully concluded its active participation in the specialized training course titled: "Renewable Energy via Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Panels." The program was hosted by the Iraqi Engineers Union – Babil Branch, in collaboration with the Engineering Integration Office for Solar Energy. Held under the supervision of the Branch Chairman, Consultant Engineer Zaman Ali Moussa, the course provided an intensive curriculum focusing on sustainable energy concepts and advanced solar PV technologies. The participation of the Center's researchers aimed to deepen technical understanding through professional theoretical and practical training. The organizers commended the high level of scientific engagement demonstrated by the Center’s staff, reflecting the institution's commitment to developing engineers and researchers capable of keeping pace with rapid advancements in energy technology. At the conclusion of the program, the Center’s participating staff were honored with certified credentials in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the scientific discussions. The Energy Research Center extends its profound gratitude to the distinguished lecturers: (Eng. Amir Abdul-Karim Naji, Eng. Walid Mohsen Al-Jubouri, Dr. Ammar, and Eng. ALMustaqbal Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University has successfully engaged in a high-level coordination meeting with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), aiming to chart a new course for international research cooperation and academic excellence. The meeting featured the participation of Prof. Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, Director of the Future Energy Research Center, alongside Dr. Mohammed Maitham Obaid (Director of Scientific Affairs at the Engineering Technical College) and Eng. Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center organized an online workshop entitled “Water and Sustainable Development”, supervised by the Director of the Center, Dr. Salwan Ubaid Waheed. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of water resources and their vital role in achieving sustainable development, as well as to discuss current challenges facing the water sector, particularly in Iraq, and ways to address them through efficient water use and conservation practices. The workshop featured lectures by: • Ms. Esraa Mohammed Hassan • Ms. Asmaa Mohammed Hameed They delivered insightful presentations covering several topics, including the importance of water conservation, causes of water waste, practical methods for preserving water in daily life, and the role of women in managing water resources and promoting environmental awareness. Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center held an online workshop entitled: “Integration of Solar Energy Systems with Smart Homes and Buildings Using the Global KNX System.” The workshop was presented by Eng. Ahmed Al-Hariri, Managing Director of Elite Engineering Company for Smart Home Systems, Solar Energy Systems, and Software Solutions. The workshop introduced solar energy systems and smart building technologies, as well as the mechanism of integrating these systems using the global KNX system. It also highlighted the key features and types of smart systems, the differences between smart systems and smart products, and discussed opportunities for professional development in this field. In addition, the workshop reviewed the available training courses in Iraq that keep pace with the evolving demands of the labor market. The workshop witnessed the participation of a number of students and individuals interested in renewable energy and smart systems. Several questions and scientific discussions were raised during the session, which enriched the topic and enhanced participants’ knowledge.
