Under the Guardianship of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, with the Supervision of Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, and in cooperation with Al-Rahma Organization for Childhood Health, headed by Dr. Iman Al-Obeidi and an elite of Specialized Doctors, Department of Anesthesia Techniques has arranged a Campaign to examine and diagnose various heart diseases in children, and it has been organized under the slogan

“A Training Course for Examining & Diagnosing Various Heart Diseases in Children”

It is considerable to note that many children, suffering from Congenital Heart Diseases, have been examined and diagnosed by a Medical Team of Doctors Specialized in Heart Surgery and Ultrasound (Echocardiography), in this Campaign. Those whose cases are complicated and cannot be treated in Iraq, shall be sent abroad.
It should be noted as well that several lectures have been delivered during the Campaign, including the lecture of Dr Iman Al-Obeidi entitled “Congenital Heart Disease Prevalence”, and of Dr. Haidar Sahib under the title
“Simple Classification of Congenital Heart Disease”
Another lecture has been delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abdul Raouf entitled
“Timing of Cardiac Surgery & Intervention of Congenital Heart Disease”
Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim has clarified that Heart Diseases are quite difficult when they affect adults, but they can be particularly tragic in children, especially Congenital Heart Diseases, being the most common type of heart disease at this age.
We would like to confirm that Congenital Heart Diseases are not dangerous, since they can be treated through a Surgical Operation, which enables the child to live a normal life without health problems. As a matter of fact, Congenital Heart Diseases can be diagnosed by a doctor while the child is still a fetus in the mother’s womb, or directly at birth, and in some cases it is diagnosed when the child reaches puberty.
