Al-Mustaqbal University participates in the development of the national action plan in collaboration with government partners

Al-Mustaqbal University has participated in the first conference of the development of the national action plan to prepare the five-year national development plan for the years (2024-2028), which was held at the Mansour Melia Hotel in Baghdad, organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Planning and in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The conference has witnessed the presence of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Iraq, several deputies, ministers, governors. The topics included the following: • Population indicators, demographic change, and human capital. • Digital Transformation • Spatial and Rural Development • Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change • Macroeconomic Framework • Global Transformations and Priority National Trends • Sectoral Development Officials’ representatives from Al-Mustaqbal University have participated in the working session of the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change, and proposed several important points through which the environment can be preserved and meet the challenges of climate change by improving the state s financial policy. By increasing the allocation of government investment financial spending to the agriculture and water resources sector as one of the most important sectors affected by climate change and its repercussions on other sectors, in addition to the governance of water uses, the use of modern irrigation techniques and raising awareness among farmers using these techniques, these proposals were included in the official recommendations for drawing up the national policy for environmental sustainability and climate change. On the sidelines of the conference sessions, the representative of the university met with a number of foreign delegations, namely Mrs. (MONICA PISU), Coordinator of Development Programs at the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation, and Dr. (Benjamin Smale), Climate and Strategic Foresight Advisor at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and a number of important topics were discussed.
