Scientific Workshop Entitled: “Women as Essential Partners in Environmental Sustainability and Resource Protection”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop on Monday, May 18, 2026, entitled “Women as Essential Partners in Environmental Sustainability and Resource Protection.” The workshop was held in Hall No. (7) of the Scientific Building and was attended by students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 concerning gender equality. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Samar Hussein Hilal, who discussed the significant role of women in achieving environmental sustainability and preserving natural resources. The session also emphasized the importance of enhancing environmental awareness among students and encouraging positive behaviors that contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the importance of community participation in addressing environmental challenges and the vital role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of environmental sustainability among young people, thereby strengthening their sense of environmental responsibility. The workshop witnessed active engagement from students through discussions and inquiries that reflected their interest in environmental issues and the importance of developing sustainable solutions to protect natural resources and maintain environmental balance. This workshop forms part of a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence with the aim of developing students’ academic and cultural knowledge and reinforcing the concepts of environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Awareness Seminar Entitled: “Raising Awareness of the Importance of Respecting Women”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Cosmetic and Laser Techniques, organized an awareness seminar on May 18, 2026, entitled “Raising Awareness of the Importance of Respecting Women.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Haiman Waleed Madhloom and Ms. Shahad Nawras. The seminar aimed to promote a culture of respect for women and to reinforce the values of equality and social justice, as well as to support women’s active role in community building and sustainable development, contributing to a more aware and balanced society. This seminar aligns with the vision of Al-Mustaqbal University in supporting women’s issues and empowering women academically and socially. It also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of respecting women’s rights and to provide a safe and sustainable educational and social environment that enhances their status and role in society. The activity is part of the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), specifically under the Protection and Prevention Pillar / Paragraph (2), which emphasizes the importance of promoting a culture of respect for women, reducing all forms of discrimination and violence, and enhancing women’s active participation in various fields of life. Workshop Entitled: “The Role of Women in Combating Violence in Society”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rowdan Salman, Dean of the College of Education, the Women’s Affairs Division at the University, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education and under the supervision of the Unit Coordinator, Professor Dr. Thanaa Baha Al-Din, organized a workshop entitled “The Role of Women in Combating Violence in Society.” The workshop was delivered by the Unit Coordinator and Assistant Lecturer Rola Saad. The workshop addressed the concept of violence, its types and forms, and its negative impacts on women, children, and families. It also emphasized ways to confront violence through awareness-raising and education, as well as strengthening community consciousness. The event was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the College of Education – Humanities Building, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and administrative staff. Scientific Workshop Entitled: “Time Management and Study Organization”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at the College of Science, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Time Management and Study Organization” on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the Humanities Building Hall, with the participation of a number of department students. The workshop was held in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to Quality Education. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Najat Hamid Jassim, Programmer Aya Jamal Hadi, and Programmer Huda Khudair Hani. It addressed several academic themes focusing on the importance of time management as one of the essential factors for achieving academic success, in addition to introducing modern methods of study organization, prioritization, and overcoming academic procrastination. The workshop also included a range of practical guidelines and applications designed to help students organize their time effectively and achieve balance between academic responsibilities and daily activities, thereby contributing to improved academic performance and reduced study-related stress. The workshop witnessed positive engagement from participating students, who expressed their appreciation for the valuable information and guidance provided, emphasizing the importance of such educational and awareness activities in developing their academic and personal skills. Scientific Seminar Entitled: “Women’s Legal Rights”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Biotechnology at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific seminar on May 14, 2026, entitled “Women’s Legal Rights.” The seminar was held within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sarah Rahim Hamza, who addressed the most significant legal rights guaranteed to women under the law, while highlighting the importance of empowering women across various social and institutional fields. This contributes to achieving justice and strengthening women’s active role in building a society founded on equality and respect for rights. The seminar also emphasized the importance of supporting women and enabling their participation in institutional reform and community development processes, considering women as essential contributors to reinforcing the principles of justice and active citizenship. Scientific Workshop Entitled: “Towards Effective Leadership and Sustainable Development”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science, organized a scientific workshop on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, entitled “Towards Effective Leadership and Sustainable Development.” The workshop was held in the Humanities Building – Hall 208, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students. The workshop aimed to promote the concepts of effective leadership and sustainable development, while highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment and their role in building an academically aware society capable of addressing contemporary challenges, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education, equality, and women’s empowerment. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mais Uday Mohammed, who discussed key modern leadership skills and the importance of strategic planning in achieving sustainable development goals. The session also emphasized the role of educational institutions in supporting young talents and developing their academic and practical capabilities. The workshop witnessed distinguished interaction from attendees through discussions and questions that enriched the workshop themes, reflecting the strong interest of students and faculty members in topics related to leadership and community development. Online Awareness Workshop Entitled: “The Role of Women in Promoting Justice, Human Rights, and Community Peace”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Industrial Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, organized an online awareness workshop on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026, entitled “The Role of Women in Promoting Justice, Human Rights, and Community Peace.” The workshop targeted first-year students and was presented by Dr. Tuqa Hazim Abdullah and Ms. Tabarak Ahmed Turki. The workshop was held within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, under the Protection Pillar / Paragraph Two, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 concerning gender equality and the empowerment of women. The workshop addressed the significant role of women in building a society based on justice and equality, in addition to their active contribution to promoting a culture of tolerance and strengthening community peace. It emphasized that empowering women and safeguarding their rights constitute essential foundations for achieving societal stability and sustainable development. Awareness Lecture Entitled: “Women’s Rights in Iraqi Laws and Their Role in Achieving Security and Stability”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science, organized an awareness lecture on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, entitled “Women’s Rights in Iraqi Laws and Their Role in Achieving Security and Stability,” with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students. This lecture was held as part of the University’s commitment to enhancing legal and cultural awareness regarding women’s issues and highlighting the vital role of women in building a secure and stable society, in addition to emphasizing the importance of supporting and empowering women across various social and legal fields. The lecture included several educational and awareness-oriented topics addressing the key rights guaranteed to women under Iraqi law, as well as discussing the role of women in promoting community security and family and social stability, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of the values of justice and equality within society. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Bushra Hussein Atiyah, who reviewed the legal aspects related to women’s rights and emphasized the importance of spreading legal awareness and strengthening community understanding within the university environment.
