Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop on Monday, May 18, 2026, entitled “Women as Essential Partners in Environmental Sustainability and Resource Protection.” The workshop was held in Hall No. (7) of the Scientific Building and was attended by students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 concerning gender equality. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Samar Hussein Hilal, who discussed the significant role of women in achieving environmental sustainability and preserving natural resources. The session also emphasized the importance of enhancing environmental awareness among students and encouraging positive behaviors that contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the importance of community participation in addressing environmental challenges and the vital role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of environmental sustainability among young people, thereby strengthening their sense of environmental responsibility. The workshop witnessed active engagement from students through discussions and inquiries that reflected their interest in environmental issues and the importance of developing sustainable solutions to protect natural resources and maintain environmental balance. This workshop forms part of a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence with the aim of developing students’ academic and cultural knowledge and reinforcing the concepts of environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
