Melted thiocarbohydrazide was used to create the 1,2,4-triazole ring derivatives along with some substituted benzoic acids. Afterwards, coupling with various aromatic amines yields 1,2,4-triazole 4-azo derivatives. These derivatives were treated with dry acetonitrile, pyridine, and polyacryloyl chloride to yield polymers of 4-azo-3,5-substituted-1,2,4-triazole. Certain polymers, like compounds (9, 12, 14, and 15) showed promising results in antibacterial and anticorrosion studies. Physical characteristics of all synthesized compounds and polymers—FT-IR and1H-NMR for some of them—were used to identify them, and then the compounds' and polymers' antibacterial and anticorrosion. © 2025 by SPC (Sami Publishing Company).

This review surveys literature methods for the transition metal-catalyzed reaction of aryl sulfoxides as electrophilic partners to construct C-X bonds by cleavage of C–S bond. The contents in this review are arranged based on the nucleophilic source/substrates employed in the reactions. The reaction mechanisms will also be discussed. © 2025 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

new compounds synthesized as corrosion inhibitor have Schiff base group and aromatic rings from reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with 4-aminoacetophenone was prepared then reacted with maleic anhydride to yield amic acid, which was introduced in dehydration reaction by using acetic anhydride and anhydrous sodium acetate as dehydrating agent to producing the final product which have two important groups (maleimide and Schiff base group), the synthesized compounds were characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, and Atomic Force Spectroscopy (AFM). The anticorrosion inhibition activity of the synthesized compound (3) was studied. The effect of the synthesized compound on the inhibition of Stainless steel (S.S) corrosion in the acidic medium (hydrochloric acid solution) was studied by using different concentrations of the inhibitor and compared with the corrosion of black without the presence of the inhibitor at different temperatures range (298–323) K and the compounds given excellent protecting of metal up to 97% by using electrochemical polarization technique. Also calculated the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters (ΔH*, Ea* and ΔS*) for blank and inhibitor solutions. Theoretical studies using DFT calculations have facilitated further understanding of the corrosion inhibition mechanism. © (2024), (University Mohammed Premier Oujda). All rights reserved.

The development of innovative antibiotic medications is particularly crucial since the increased bacterial resistance to antibiotics poses a serious danger to human health. Here, an adamantine moiety-containing family of Schiff base tetracycline derivatives was created and the structural characterization of the compounds was carried out via spectral methods (FTIR and 1H NMR), after which the physical properties of the synthesis compounds and the biological activity were tested in vitro. The Schiff bases derived from tetracycline show significantly higher activity against Gram-positive bacteria as compared to tetracycline. Further study on these derived compounds will help in marketing new derivatives of tetracycline that will have more broad-spectrum activity than tetracycline. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In this work, new 1,3-oxazepine derivatives were synthesized from a Schiff base. The latter was prepared by reacting 4-amino antipyrine with 4-amino acetophenone, then the Schiff base, which has an amine group, reacted with maleic anhydride to produce the corresponding amic acid. The prepared amic acid compound has an azomethine group utilized in synthesizing new derivatives of 1,3-oxazepine through reacting the amic acid with different cyclic anhydrides (succinic anhydride, maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, tetrachlorophthalic anhydride, and citraconic anhydride). Different techniques have been used to confirm the structures of synthesized compounds in terms of physical properties and spectroscopic measurements, where proton nuclear magnetic resonance 1H-NMR and Fourier Transform Infrared FT-IR spectroscopies have been used to confirm the synthesized compounds. In addition, the antibacterial activity of oxazepinederivatives was examined against two types of bacteria, gram-negative and gram-positive. © 2023 by SPC (Sami Publishing Company)
