As part of its efforts to strengthen international cooperation and engage with leading global academic institutions, Al-Mustaqbal University held a virtual meeting with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA, to explore opportunities for scientific and academic collaboration and discuss the development of joint postgraduate programs and professional certificates. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of education and strengthen academic and professional skills. The meeting was attended by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, **Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi**; the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, **Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi**; the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, **Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul**; and the Dean of the College of Engineering, **Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi**, alongside several department heads and officials from the university presidency. Representatives responsible for scientific and academic cooperation at Virginia Commonwealth University also participated, together with **Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh** from the Iraqi Attaché Office in Washington, D.C. The meeting addressed several proposed areas of cooperation, including master's degree programs, the possibility of hosting academic programs at Al-Mustaqbal University, short-term professional certificates, and specialized training programs. These initiatives would enable both institutions to benefit from their respective academic expertise and resources while providing valuable opportunities for students and faculty members. The participants also exchanged views on the requirements for implementing the proposed programs and the mechanisms for developing them in accordance with recognized academic standards. They emphasized the importance of evaluating available options and identifying the most feasible areas of collaboration as a preliminary step toward translating these proposals into practical and sustainable partnerships.
