A New Global Achievement: Al-Mustaqbal University Ranks First in Iraq in the Times Sustainable Development Rankings 2026

In a new academic milestone that reinforces its leading position at both national and international levels, Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a significant breakthrough by ranking first among all Iraqi public and private universities in the *Times Higher Education Impact Rankings* (2026 edition). The university secured a place in the global 201–300 band out of 1,603 universities worldwide included in this year’s assessment. Furthermore, the university outperformed all 43 participating Iraqi public and private institutions, thereby affirming its national leadership and sustained excellence in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and translating them into institutional practices and tangible, impactful initiatives. Regarding specific development goals, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first in Iraq across several key areas, including: * Goal 1 (SDG1): No Poverty. * Goal 7 (SDG7): Affordable and Clean Energy. * Goal 13 (SDG13): Climate Action. * Goal 16 (SDG16): Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. In a statement to the university’s media office, the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, commended the significant efforts made by faculty members, researchers, staff, and students.
