Al-Mustaqbal University Expands Its International Cooperation Horizons by Signing a Memorandum of Understanding and Research Partnership with the University of Nottingham, UK

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and expand its horizons in scientific research and smart development, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Dhalimi, and the Cultural Advisor in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, paid an official visit to the prestigious University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. The visit included extensive and productive meetings with several officials and academic leaders at the University of Nottingham and its School of Pharmacy. Discussions focused on activating the strategic partnership between the two institutions and developing joint initiatives, including twinning programs, dual-degree programs, and collaborative research projects. This partnership holds exceptional significance given the distinguished reputation of both institutions. The School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham is ranked first in the UK and eighth globally, and it maintains a strategic partnership with the internationally renowned company Boots, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare retail. This collaboration provides its graduates with extensive employment opportunities in leading international institutions and companies. Meanwhile, the College of Pharmacy at Al-Mustaqbal University is recognized as one of the leading pharmacy colleges in Iraq, having achieved a significant milestone by obtaining ACPE accreditation for pharmaceutical education, reflecting the alignment of its curriculum and academic infrastructure with the highest international standards. As a culmination of these fruitful meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Al-Mustaqbal University and the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham. The agreement aims to establish strong foundations for academic and research cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise among faculty members and researchers, and create new opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology.

College of Medicine at Al-Mustaqbal University Conducts the First Joint Examination for Second-Year Students

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine at Al-Mustaqbal University, the College conducted the first joint examination for second-year students in cooperation with the College of Medicine / University of Babylon. The examination was attended by the University President, the assistants, and members of the Joint Examination Committee from the College of Medicine at the University of Babylon. This examination was organized as part of strengthening academic cooperation between Iraqi medical colleges and enhancing the scientific and academic standards of students in line with the quality requirements adopted in medical education. It also reflects the commitment to supporting academic development and exchanging expertise among educational institutions. The examination process was conducted smoothly and in an organized manner, as the College provided all the necessary logistical and technical requirements while implementing all appropriate procedures and arrangements to ensure the success of the examination and provide a suitable environment for students. The process was supervised directly by the examination and administrative committees. The examination also witnessed the presence and follow-up of university officials and academic committee members, who praised the high level of organization and coordination between both institutions, emphasizing the importance of joint examinations in enhancing academic integrity and evaluating students according to unified standards that contribute to the development of the educational and examination process.

Al-Mustaqbal University College of Pharmacy Conducts the Standardized Examination for Pharmaceutical Chemistry

On the morning of Tuesday, 12-5-2026, the College of Pharmacy at Al-Mustaqbal University conducted the standardized examination for third-stage students in the subject of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, in a well-organized academic atmosphere under the direct supervision of the examination committees and teaching staff. The examination halls witnessed a smooth and organized process, with all necessary requirements and procedures provided to ensure that students performed their exams in a suitable and orderly environment, reflecting the college’s commitment to applying approved academic standards in the examination process. Several students indicated that the exam questions ranged from moderate to difficult and covered the main topics of the subject in accordance with the approved curriculum. This examination comes within the framework of monitoring the scientific and academic level of students and enhancing the quality of education and assessment at Al-Mustaqbal University.

The College of Pharmacy at Al-Mustaqbal University conducted the Medical Microbiology examination for second-year students on the morning of Sunday, 10/5/2026, as part of the final examination schedule for the current academic year, under the direct supervision of the examination and organizational committees of the college. The examination halls witnessed a well-organized and smooth process regarding students’ entry and seating arrangements, alongside full adherence to the approved examination regulations and instructions, contributing to the provision of a suitable academic environment that enabled students to complete their exams comfortably and efficiently. As part of the training program on electronic grading, and within the activities of the second workshop held on May 4, organized by the Measurement and Evaluation Unit in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, the session addressed the design of the Bubble Sheet and its application, in addition to a detailed explanation of how to operate the scanner and use it in the grading process. The workshop lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed, Rapporteur of the Forensic Evidence Department. The workshop included a practical application by the participants, involving a complete experimental implementation of the electronic grading process, along with a discussion of common errors and responses to participants’ questions. The workshop targeted academic and administrative staff involved in the examination process and aimed to enhance their skills in using modern technologies for electronic grading, thereby improving accuracy and efficiency, reducing time and effort, and aligning with the digital transformation trends in educational institutions.

These activities were part of the first workshop of the training course, which was dedicated to presenting the practical aspects related to the examination process. The sessions were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sarmad Saleh Jawad, programmer Yaseen Abdul Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed. The first workshop addressed the Bubble Sheet, including how to design its template, as well as explaining the use of the electronic correction device (scanner). The workshop witnessed notable engagement from the participants due to its importance in supporting the work of examination committees and preparing teaching staff to manage exams efficiently and in an organized manner, thereby reducing potential errors.
