The Measurement and Evaluation Unit Monitors Academic and Scientific Activities at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and monitor the implementation of academic plans, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit continues to follow up on educational and scientific activities across the departments of the College of Science. These efforts contribute to documenting academic achievements and supporting the continuous improvement of educational performance in accordance with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards. The follow-up activities included monitoring laboratory experiments and practical sessions in the Department of Biochemistry, which help students develop their scientific and practical skills. They also covered the introductory campaigns organized by the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems to welcome new students and introduce them to the specialization and its future career prospects. In addition, the Unit followed up on meetings held by the Department of Forensic Evidence with student representatives to strengthen communication, address academic needs, and discuss students’ concerns and suggestions. These activities form part of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit’s ongoing efforts to monitor educational practices across colleges and academic departments and document their achievements in support of evaluating performance and achieving the intended learning outcomes. Such efforts also strengthen coordination with measurement and evaluation officers across the university’s academic units and help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, ultimately contributing to the quality of education and the university learning environment. The Measurement and Evaluation Unit emphasizes the importance of continued collaboration with the university’s colleges and academic departments to monitor educational indicators, document achievements, and review academic practices regularly. Measurement and Evaluation Unit Monitors Educational and Training Activities at the College of Pharmacy, Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality and improve academic performance, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit monitors educational and training activities at the College of Pharmacy, contributing to the continuous improvement of the educational process and its outcomes in line with the University’s commitment to quality assurance and academic accreditation standards. This follow-up covers scientific and practical activities, including laboratory-based practical lectures, as well as international training opportunities for students, such as the summer training program in the United Kingdom. These activities aim to develop students’ scientific and practical skills, strengthen their professional experience, and familiarize them with modern pharmaceutical practices. The Measurement and Evaluation Unit contributes to these efforts by coordinating with the College’s Measurement and Evaluation Officer to monitor the quality of activity implementation and assess the extent to which educational objectives are being achieved. This also includes supporting the documentation of activities and monitoring relevant observations and indicators that help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. These efforts highlight the importance of cooperation between the Measurement and Evaluation Unit and the university’s colleges in monitoring and continuously improving academic performance. President of Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the UNIMED General Assembly in Spain

Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in the General Assembly of the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), hosted by the University of Barcelona in Spain on 7–8 October 2026. The event coincided with the celebration of the 35th anniversary of UNIMED’s founding and brought together university presidents and representatives of academic and educational institutions from the Mediterranean and European regions. The meetings addressed the union’s strategic priorities, focusing on the development of higher education and scientific research, the promotion of digital education and intercultural dialogue, enhancing graduates’ employability, supporting education during crises, and achieving sustainable development goals. The sessions also explored the Erasmus+ Programme for 2028–2034, mechanisms for promoting student and staff mobility, strengthening international partnerships, and supporting master’s scholarships and Jean Monnet Actions. Al-Mustaqbal University is the only private university in Iraq to have secured a Jean Monnet grant under European Union programmes, reflecting its academic excellence and active presence in international higher education initiatives. This participation reaffirms Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to expanding international partnerships, exchanging academic expertise, and keeping pace with global developments in higher education and scientific research.

Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes the Second Employability and Career Development Forum to Empower Graduates and Enhance Their Professional Readiness

Al-Mustaqbal University organized the Second Employability and Career Development Forum on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, under the slogan “Empowering Graduates and Addressing Unemployment toward a Sustainable Professional Future.” The forum was held at the Student Activities Hall in the Medical Building on the ground floor, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi. The forum was organized by the Rehabilitation and Employment Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, as part of the university’s commitment to supporting its graduates and enhancing their readiness to enter the labor market. It provided an interactive environment that contributes to linking university educational outcomes with labor market requirements, while introducing graduates to available professional opportunities and career pathways, as well as discussing the main challenges they face in securing employment opportunities. The forum also highlighted the importance of developing the professional and practical skills required in the modern workplace and strengthening communication between graduates and institutions and organizations concerned with employment and training. This contributes to expanding graduates’ career opportunities and enhancing their ability to compete effectively in the labor market. In this context, the Measurement and Evaluation Unit plays an important role in monitoring and measuring graduate-related indicators by collecting and analyzing data on the number of graduates, employment rates, and the extent to which graduates benefit from academic programs and specializations. The Unit also monitors the alignment between educational outcomes and labor market needs and utilizes measurement results to support decision-making and develop improvement plans that enhance graduates’ employment opportunities. The Departments of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies, Electrical Engineering Technologies, and Medical Devices Engineering Technologies hosted several workshops focusing on examination instructions and the proper use of the Bubble Sheet system. The workshops also explained the correct answering methods and highlighted common mistakes that may affect the accuracy of electronic correction and examination results. As part of the training program on electronic grading, and within the activities of the second workshop held on May 4, organized by the Measurement and Evaluation Unit in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, the session addressed the design of the Bubble Sheet and its application, in addition to a detailed explanation of how to operate the scanner and use it in the grading process. The workshop lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed, Rapporteur of the Forensic Evidence Department. The workshop included a practical application by the participants, involving a complete experimental implementation of the electronic grading process, along with a discussion of common errors and responses to participants’ questions. The workshop targeted academic and administrative staff involved in the examination process and aimed to enhance their skills in using modern technologies for electronic grading, thereby improving accuracy and efficiency, reducing time and effort, and aligning with the digital transformation trends in educational institutions.

The Measurement and Evaluation Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, conducted a training course consisting of two workshops on May 3–4, held in the computer laboratories of the Medical Building at Al-Mustaqbal University, with the attendance of one representative from each college. These activities were part of the first workshop of the training course, which was dedicated to presenting the practical aspects related to the examination process. The sessions were delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sarmad Saleh Jawad, programmer Yaseen Abdul Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed. The first workshop addressed the Bubble Sheet, including how to design its template, as well as explaining the use of the electronic correction device (scanner). The workshop witnessed notable engagement from the participants due to its importance in supporting the work of examination committees and preparing teaching staff to manage exams efficiently and in an organized manner, thereby reducing potential errors. This course comes within the framework of the university’s commitment to providing an appropriate examination environment and enhancing opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional development among the teaching staff in line with the requirements of modern education.
