Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University Explores International Cooperation with SIERG Group and the Ministry of Higher Education in the Kurdistan Region

As part of its commitment to fostering international academic engagement and expanding strategic partnerships in lifelong learning and professional development, the Continuing Education Center at Al-Mustaqbal University held an official virtual meeting with the SELART International Education & Research Group (SIERG), alongside a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region. The meeting was attended on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University by Dr. Wael Al-Naddawi, Director of the Continuing Education Center, and Mr. Abdali Dakhil, Assistant Director of the Center. SIERG was represented by Mr. John Borymian, with the participation of Dr. Samira, representing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region. During the session, the Continuing Education Center delivered a comprehensive introductory presentation highlighting Al-Mustaqbal University's distinguished academic standing, its achievements in international rankings, and its contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The presentation also outlined the center’s ongoing initiatives and strategic plans in on-campus, blended, and digital learning, as well as institutional capacity building. For his part, Mr. John Borymian delivered a presentation detailing SIERG’s international network and operational scope. He highlighted prospective areas of collaboration, including the co-development of accredited professional certifications, lifelong learning and executive education programs, capacity-building tracks for academic and research personnel, and avenues for international academic and research exchange. Dr. Samira emphasized the vital importance of building collaborative bridges between Iraqi universities, regional institutions in Kurdistan, and specialized international organizations, underscoring the collective goal of elevating vocational and professional training standards and ensuring academic quality and accreditation across practical development programs. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to frame the scope of future collaboration. Both parties also agreed to establish a joint task force tasked with curating and designing specialized training packages as a pilot partnership model, paving the way toward formal implementation and official accreditation in the coming period.
