Al Mustaqbal University has completed its final preparations to host the EURAS Academy 2026 International Forum through an extensive coordination meeting chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, with the attendance of the university’s vice presidents, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, several deans of colleges, department heads, and staff from the Office of the University President and other university departments The meeting reviewed the scientific agenda of the forum, discussed the sessions and planned activities, and allocated responsibilities to the various committees to ensure smooth workflow and institutional coordination. The readiness of technical and logistical support was also confirmed, along with preparing all organizational requirements to ensure the success of this international event The University President emphasized the importance of teamwork and unifying efforts to present the forum in a manner that reflects the academic stature of Al Mustaqbal University and demonstrates its organizational capabilities and active presence in the international scientific arena, especially as this forum is the first of its kind among Iraqi universities These preparations come as part of the university administration’s commitment to ensuring the success of EURAS Academy 2026 as an important international scientific platform that promotes academic dialogue, strengthens international partnerships, and supports the development of higher education in Iraq and the region
Al-Mustaqbal University has recorded a new academic achievement reflecting its rapid development and growing presence on the higher education map, after ranking first among private universities in Iraq and third at the national and regional levels in the Webometrics global ranking, which included the participation of 128 Iraqi universities, both public and private On the international level, the university achieved a significant leap in its global ranking, moving from 3224 in the previous edition to 1967 in the latest edition, advancing 1257 positions at once, which clearly indicates substantial progress in its academic, research, and digital performance, as well as its active presence in the global academic community This advancement is attributed to the university’s continuous institutional efforts in the fields of rigorous scientific research, academic publishing in international databases, and enhancing the digital presence of its websites and platforms, alongside developing scientific and administrative infrastructure in line with international standards In this context, the university president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, praised the significant efforts of the academic and administrative staff, emphasizing that this achievement is the result of collective work and team spirit, and serves as a motivation to continue elevating the university’s position in national and international rankings Professor Dr. Majdi also stressed the importance of sustaining institutional work and integrating roles among faculties, research centers, and supporting units, noting that the university continues to implement its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education, supporting high-quality research, increasing international publications, and improving digital performance, all of which contribute to improving ranking indicators and achieving further future accomplishments
Al-Mustaqbal University is preparing to host the EURAS Academy International Forum on 29 January, a step that reflects its leading academic position and its continued commitment to openness and international cooperation in the field of higher education. In line with the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division held a coordination meeting specifically for liaison officers in the university’s colleges, with the participation of the Scientific Affairs Department and under the supervision of Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muthaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi The meeting was managed by the Head of the Division, Dr. Iman Abdul Aziz, and focused on developing training and qualification programs aligned with labor market requirements, in addition to updating the databases of students, graduates, and postgraduate students The meeting also addressed strengthening cooperation between the Division and the Scientific Affairs Department to expand partnerships with institutions and companies, ensuring the provision of practical training opportunities and sustainable employment prospects for university graduates This meeting reflects the pivotal role of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Department, in enabling students and graduates to acquire practical skills that meet labor market demands and enhance the university’s contribution to the community
University of Al-Mustaqbal continues to finalize its academic and organizational preparations to host the Arab Forum on Artificial Intelligence, organized in partnership with the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, scheduled to take place from January 25 to 26, 2026, on the university campus, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and experts from across the Arab world The forum will feature specialized dialogue sessions addressing key scientific and research themes in the field of artificial intelligence, aiming to enhance knowledge exchange, support scientific research pathways, and highlight the role of universities in keeping pace with rapid digital transformation In this context, a coordination meeting was held at the Office of Scientific and Academic Supervision, chaired by Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, and attended by Professor Dr. Nidal Al-Abadi, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center, along with a number of heads of academic departments, to review the final preparations and ensure organizational and logistical readiness for the successful implementation of this prominent scientific event
Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated its leading position in the Iraqi Universities Ranking for 2025 and its receipt of the Certificate of Excellence during an official ceremony held for this occasion, attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, along with academic leaders, faculty members, and students This celebration affirmed the university’s prestigious academic standing and embodied its continuous efforts to develop academic and institutional performance, reflecting its leadership in the field of higher education in Iraq During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, indicated that this achievement is the result of a clear strategic vision and integrated institutional work, in addition to a strong commitment to quality standards, academic excellence, and support for sustainability initiatives and community service The ceremony also included honoring the University President and a number of distinguished faculty members in recognition of their prominent roles and effective contributions to achieving this accomplishment In conclusion, Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirmed its commitment to promoting innovation, advancing scientific research, and enhancing the quality of higher education, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in support of strengthening the Iraqi academic presence at both regional and international levels
In a distinguished academic presence, the University of Al-Mustaqbal participated in the third meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Academic Bridge Initiative between Iraqi and British universities, which was held on Thursday, 8 January 2026, at Al-Maaref University in Al-Anbar Governorate, under the patronage of the British Council in Iraq. The meeting witnessed wide participation from presidents of public and private universities, as well as representatives of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations and the Department of Private University Education The University of Al-Mustaqbal was represented by a high-level delegation headed by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. The delegation delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the University’s key achievements and qualitative activities implemented within the framework of the initiative, reflecting its development and influential presence in the process of internationalizing higher education These activities included official visits to several prestigious British universities, the signing of strategic memoranda of understanding, and the strengthening of academic cooperation in the fields of scientific research, capacity building, and student mobility programs, in addition to organizing joint scientific events and pursuing international accreditations In his speech during the meeting, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Head of the Executive Committee of the Initiative, praised the serious and distinguished efforts exerted by the University of Al-Mustaqbal in supporting the initiative’s objectives, affirming its effective role in enhancing the internationalization of higher education in Iraq For his part, the President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal reviewed the University’s major achievements during 2025, foremost among them attaining first place among private universities in Iraq in several international rankings, in addition to securing first place in the Iraqi University Rankings (IRU 2025). He also highlighted the academic cooperation agreements with prominent British universities, including the University of Manchester, the University of Nottingham, Teesside University, and the University of the West of England, particularly in the areas of student training and the establishment of postgraduate programs in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and energy This distinguished participation reflects the University of Al-Mustaqbal’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, and contributing effectively to the development of the higher education system in Iraq in accordance with global standards At the conclusion of the participation, the delegation of the University of Al-Mustaqbal extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Presidency of Al-Maaref University and its entire staff for their warm hospitality and generous reception, wishing them continued success in serving the national academic journey
