The aviation sector continues to grow, making it one of the most important means of transportation worldwide. However, this growth is associated with increased aircraft fuel consumption and the resulting emissions that affect the environment and climate. The carbon footprint of aircraft has therefore become an important environmental concern, as fuel combustion in aircraft engines produces carbon dioxide emissions, along with other gases and substances that may affect the atmosphere. The amount of emissions is influenced by several factors, including engine efficiency, aircraft weight, flight distance, fuel type, and aircraft operating conditions. For this reason, the aviation industry is working to develop more efficient engines, design lighter aircraft, improve flight efficiency, and promote the use of sustainable aviation fuels and modern technologies that can help reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Reducing the carbon footprint of aircraft represents an important challenge for the aviation sector and requires continued research and development in engines, materials, fuels, and modern engineering technologies. Through these efforts, aviation can become more efficient and sustainable while reducing its environmental impact and supporting a better balance between technological development and environmental protection.
