Al-Mustaqbal University President Joins High-Level Delegation on Academic Visit to Egypt to Scientific Collaboration

The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, took part in a high-level ministerial delegation during an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, with the aim of enhancing academic cooperation and activating scientific partnerships between the two countries. The visit focused on advancing memoranda of understanding and elevating the level of scientific research. The tour included several key institutions, notably Al-Azhar University, where the delegation met with university leadership to explore opportunities for collaboration in academic and research fields, as well as the exchange of expertise to support educational development in both nations. The delegation also reviewed joint postgraduate programs with Mansoura University, praising the successful Master’s program in Law hosted at Al-Mustaqbal University in cooperation with Mansoura University. This initiative was highlighted as a leading model of academic collaboration between Iraq and Egypt. Emphasis was placed on removing obstacles for researchers and expanding cooperation, particularly in emerging and specialized disciplines. In addition, the delegation held meetings at the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to discuss mechanisms for mutual recognition, academic twinning programs, and initiatives aimed at improving university rankings in global indexing databases. As part of efforts to support international publishing, the delegation visited the regional office of Elsevier, where they were introduced to the latest scientific publishing technologies powered by artificial intelligence and explored ways to enhance the global visibility of Iraqi research. The visit also included a stop at “Intilaaq” for Communications and Information Technology at Mansoura University. The company presented its achievements in digital transformation and the development of technological infrastructure in universities and hospitals, earning the delegation’s appreciation as a pioneering model in supporting academic and medical services. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his appreciation for the leadership role of the Deputy Minister in advancing this scientific initiative, affirming that Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation reflects its commitment to international quality standards and its pursuit of a modern academic and research environment through collaboration with established Egyptian institutions. This visit comes as part of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ongoing efforts to promote international engagement and achieve excellence in research outputs.
