An awareness campaign entitled: “Women and Sustainability: A Partnership Towards Comprehensive Development.”

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administrative Sciences / Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Najlaa Salem Mousa, is organizing an awareness campaign entitled “Women and Sustainability: A Partnership Towards Comprehensive Development” on Saturday, April 8, 2026. This activity aims to highlight the pivotal role of women in achieving sustainable development, while promoting awareness of the importance of their empowerment and active participation across various fields. It also seeks to foster a culture of sustainability within the university environment and encourage students to adopt community-based initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable future. The campaign is based on several key pillars, most notably empowering women both academically and practically, strengthening their role as active partners in societal development, and emphasizing the concept of comprehensive sustainability in its environmental, economic, and social dimensions. In addition, it promotes awareness through education and outreach, and supports innovation by encouraging ideas and initiatives that contribute to sustainable development. This initiative is aligned with the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly within the Protection Pillar, and in accordance with Paragraph (1), which focuses on organizing awareness lectures, workshops, and seminars addressing challenges and negative phenomena that may affect women, thereby enhancing their awareness and empowerment across various domains. Furthermore, the campaign is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the dissemination of knowledge and awareness, Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting women’s empowerment and participation, and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by supporting women’s role in sustainable economic development. Awareness Activity Entitled: “Black Lions of Mesopotamia Celebration”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College / Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering organized an awareness activity entitled: “Black Lions of Mesopotamia Celebration” on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturers Zahraa Salah Hadi, Ilaf Jassim Mohammed, and Shahd Mahmood. This activity was conducted in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), and within the framework of the Iraqi National Action Plan for Women, specifically the pillars of participation, and peace and recovery. The event was held in celebration of the Iraqi national football team’s victory, with the participation of students from the department, particularly female students, expressing pride in national achievements and reinforcing morale and a sense of national belonging within the university environment. The celebration included a variety of patriotic segments that reflected the academic community’s support for the Iraqi national team. It also highlighted the role of women in actively participating in university and national activities that promote unity and social cohesion. The event witnessed significant engagement from students, contributing to a positive atmosphere characterized by cooperation and a strong sense of belonging, thereby supporting a stable psychological and social university environment. The activity aims to strengthen students’ sense of national identity, promote community engagement, and highlight the role of women in supporting cultural and national activities within the academic institution. This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to support extracurricular activities that contribute to building a well-rounded student personality, while reinforcing the principles of social peace and positive participation, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and enhancing the role of the Women’s Affairs Unit in empowering women and expanding their presence across various fields. #Ranked_first_among_private_universities_in_Iraq

An Activity Entitled: “Breast Cancer: Early Detection and Prevention Methods”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and as part of the cooperation between the Women’s Affairs Division and the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering Technologies / Department of Medical Instrumentation Engineering, an educational awareness activity was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Issa Mohammed, with the participation of fourth-year students, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The activity was entitled: “Breast Cancer: Early Detection and Prevention Methods,” in alignment with the university’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. The event included the distribution of an educational brochure that covered an overview of breast cancer, its causes, and associated risk factors, in addition to highlighting the importance of early detection and its role in increasing recovery rates. Furthermore, the activity addressed key preventive measures, including regular self-examinations, routine medical screenings, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and emphasizing the importance of psychological and social support for patients. This initiative aimed to raise health awareness among students and the university community, promote the culture of early detection, and encourage healthy behaviors, thereby contributing to reducing infection rates and improving treatment outcomes. An awareness campaign entitled “Digital Security is Your Responsibility”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in coordination with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College / Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies organized an awareness campaign entitled “Digital Security is Your Responsibility” on Monday, March 17, 2026. The campaign was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shahad Ghalib and targeted female students of the department. The campaign aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of digital security and the necessity of protecting personal accounts from cyber threats and breaches. It addressed key preventive measures, including the use of strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and avoiding the sharing of personal information. It also highlighted the risks of phishing attacks, methods for identifying them, and appropriate responses to incidents such as hacking and electronic blackmail. In addition, the campaign included a set of simplified awareness guidelines, such as regularly updating applications, reviewing and adjusting privacy settings, and using secure and reliable networks, all of which contribute to promoting safe and responsible use of technology among students. This initiative was implemented in line with the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly aligning with the protection pillar, which emphasizes enhancing women’s safety and security across various domains, especially within the digital environment, by mitigating potential cyber risks. Furthermore, the campaign incorporated a training component through the organization of workshops aimed at developing women’s skills in digital security. These sessions focused on improving their capacity to protect personal data, safely engage with modern technologies, and effectively respond to cyber threats with confidence and awareness. The campaign also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting digital literacy, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women and strengthening their role in the safe use of technology. An Awareness Activity Entitled: “Together Against Extremism… Towards Conscious Thinking and a Safe Society.”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division at the university, an awareness activity was organized by Dr. Nazima Baha Tu’t, with the participation of students from the College of Pharmacy, on Sunday, March 9, 2026, under the title: “Together Against Extremism… Towards Conscious Thought and a Safe Society.” This activity falls within the framework of the third pillar and aims to promote a culture of moderation, reject extremist ideas, and reinforce the values of constructive dialogue and tolerance within the university environment. It reflects the pivotal role of academic institutions in raising awareness and intellectually safeguarding young people. The activity also highlights the importance of the academic woman’s role in leading intellectual and educational initiatives that contribute to preparing a well-educated and responsible generation, capable of addressing intellectual challenges with a balanced scientific and humanitarian approach. The event included awareness-oriented sessions that discussed the concept of extremism, its causes, and its impact on both individuals and society. It emphasized that knowledge and education are the most effective tools in confronting deviant, and that the university represents a safe environment that embraces diverse opinions within a framework of mutual respect and ethical values. Awareness Campaign Titled: (I Support Women Initiative)

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Beauty and Laser Technologies, organized an awareness campaign titled: "I am a Supporter of Women Initiative" This initiative was held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in celebration of International Women's Day and in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 5: Gender Equality. The campaign was implemented by Ms. Shahad Nawras Abbas and Ms. Hayman Walid Mazloum. The initiative focused on highlighting the importance of supporting and empowering women and enhancing their role in society by spreading a culture of support and solidarity among community members. It emphasized the status of women as essential partners in the process of development and progress. Furthermore, the initiative aimed to raise awareness of women's rights and encourage female students to trust their abilities and develop their leadership and scientific skills to contribute effectively in various fields of life.

An awareness campaign entitled “Smoking… a Slow Killer… By Your Own Will.”

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division organized an awareness campaign entitled “Smoking… a Slow Killer… By Your Own Will” on 28/1/2026, in line with the provisions of the Executive Plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women – Fourth Axis. The campaign included an explanation of the harms of smoking and a warning against the diseases it causes, such as lung and oral cancer and heart diseases, with the aim of raising students’ awareness of its health risks. A number of students participated in this campaign and expressed their interest in the importance of spreading health awareness about the dangers of smoking.

An awareness campaign entitled “Stop Violence Against Women.”

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division organized an awareness campaign entitled “Stop Violence Against Women” on Tuesday, 27/1/2026, within the campus of Al-Mustaqbal University. The campaign addressed the effects of violence on women’s health, noting that abused women are more susceptible to psychological and neurological disorders. It also highlighted different forms of violence, such as child marriage, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and slavery, which are internationally prohibited practices and rejected by all divine religions. A number of male and female students participated in the campaign and expressed their interest in contributing to raising community awareness and combating this phenomenon. This campaign falls under Axis Three (Protecting Women and Combating Violence Against Them) of the Executive Plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women for 2026.
