Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administrative Sciences / Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Najlaa Salem Mousa, is organizing an awareness campaign entitled “Women and Sustainability: A Partnership Towards Comprehensive Development” on Saturday, April 8, 2026. This activity aims to highlight the pivotal role of women in achieving sustainable development, while promoting awareness of the importance of their empowerment and active participation across various fields. It also seeks to foster a culture of sustainability within the university environment and encourage students to adopt community-based initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable future. The campaign is based on several key pillars, most notably empowering women both academically and practically, strengthening their role as active partners in societal development, and emphasizing the concept of comprehensive sustainability in its environmental, economic, and social dimensions. In addition, it promotes awareness through education and outreach, and supports innovation by encouraging ideas and initiatives that contribute to sustainable development. This initiative is aligned with the Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), particularly within the Protection Pillar, and in accordance with Paragraph (1), which focuses on organizing awareness lectures, workshops, and seminars addressing challenges and negative phenomena that may affect women, thereby enhancing their awareness and empowerment across various domains. Furthermore, the campaign is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the dissemination of knowledge and awareness, Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting women’s empowerment and participation, and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by supporting women’s role in sustainable economic development.
