A PhD graduate in Media from the University of Baghdad, he began his journalistic career in 1980 as an editor for Al-Jumhuriya newspaper published in Baghdad. He worked as an associate professor in the Department of Journalism, Faculty of Media, Middle East University, Jordan from 2020-2022, and a faculty member in the Faculty of Media, Petra University from 2009-2020. He currently works as an associate professor in the Department of Media, Al-Mustaqbal University, Iraq, Babylon. He has published five books, the last of which was: Digital Media and the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in 2022. He has also published 25 scientific studies in peer-reviewed journals, indexed globally and regionally (Scopus, EBSCO), and supervised 10 master s students. He is a member of the Arab Journalists Union and an active member of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate. He is a member of the editorial board of 9 peer-reviewed scientific journals specializing in media and communication. In 2022, he was ranked first for the second time in a row among the 10 most prominent Arab authors who topped the list of authors whose scientific production is cited in the Arab world in the field of media and communication, according to the annual report of the Arcif Foundation for measuring the impact factor and reference citations for Arab scientific journals.
