As part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and foster a culture of water resource conservation, the College of Science at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness campaign entitled “Protecting the Waters of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers” on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The campaign was carried out by Asst. Lecturer Najat Hamid Jasim, Activities Officer at the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, and Asst. Lecturer Aya Jamal Haidi, at the Pharmacy Building.
The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and reducing sources of pollution that threaten their safety. It also highlighted the vital role of water in human health and environmental sustainability, emphasizing the need to adopt positive practices that contribute to rational water consumption and protect water resources from pollutants.
This initiative is part of the College of Science’s ongoing efforts at Al-Mustaqbal University to promote environmental responsibility among students and the university community and reinforce the principles of sustainability and natural resource conservation. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG 14: Life Below Water.
