Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the direct supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science, the Intelligent Medical Systems Department at the College of Science, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Biotechnology, conducted a scientific and awareness campaign on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, entitled “Women’s Education… An Investment in the Future.” The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the importance of women’s education and support their scientific, academic, and community participation. The campaign addressed several awareness themes focusing on the importance of education in empowering women and developing their scientific and intellectual capabilities, as well as their role in building an educated society capable of achieving sustainable development. It also encouraged female students to continue their educational journey, develop their scientific and professional skills, and enhance their participation in academic and research fields. The campaign also highlighted the importance of providing a supportive educational environment for women and encouraging innovation, creativity, and active participation in scientific and research activities. Such efforts contribute to strengthening women’s presence and role within educational institutions and society. The campaign was jointly implemented by the Women’s Affairs Committee of the Intelligent Medical Systems Department and the Women’s Affairs Committee of the Department of Medical Biotechnology, with the participation of Asst. Lecturer Najat Hamid Jasim, Women’s Affairs Officer in the Intelligent Medical Systems Department; Asst. Lecturer Aya Jamal Haidi, Committee Member; Programmer Huda Khudair Hani, Committee Member; and Asst. Lecturer Sara Rahim Hamza, Women’s Affairs Committee Officer in the Department of Medical Biotechnology. The campaign reflects the College of Science’s commitment to supporting scientific and awareness initiatives that enhance the role of women in the academic environment and promote a culture of education, empowerment, and community participation. It also strengthens cooperation and integration among the College’s scientific departments in implementing initiatives with meaningful academic and community impact. The activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
