The Intelligent Medical Systems Department at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted an awareness activity on Monday, September 28, 2026, addressing the risks of eye injuries, preventive measures, and appropriate responses to certain emergency cases, as part of the Department’s commitment to promoting health awareness and preventive culture among students. The activity included raising awareness of several risks that may affect the eyes, including the entry of metal objects or fragments into the eye and the potential injuries they may cause. Participants were advised to handle such cases carefully and avoid attempting to remove foreign objects randomly. The activity also addressed the risks of chemical burns to the eyes resulting from exposure to certain chemicals, emphasizing the importance of taking appropriate first-aid measures promptly and seeking medical care when necessary. The activity also highlighted the importance of preventing eye injuries by following safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment, particularly in laboratory environments and when handling materials and tools that may pose risks to eye safety. The activity was implemented under the supervision and participation of Asst. Lecturer Najat Hamid Jasim, Activities Officer; Asst. Lecturer Aya Jamal Haidi; and Programmer Huda Khudair Hani, who prepared and presented the awareness materials and health information in a simplified manner aimed at promoting awareness of eye safety and proper responses to emergency injuries. This activity is part of the Intelligent Medical Systems Department’s efforts at the College of Science to implement awareness and community-oriented programs that contribute to strengthening health and preventive awareness and linking academic knowledge with daily practices that support the health and safety of community members.
