Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has been selected as a keynote speaker at THE Arab Universities Summit 2026, organized by Times Higher Education (THE) in partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The summit will take place in Benguerir, Morocco, from November 3 to 5, 2026. The President’s participation in this prestigious international academic event includes a high-level panel discussion entitled “The Role of Universities in Accelerating the Clean Energy Transition,” scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The session will bring together distinguished academic experts and decision-makers to explore the role of higher education institutions in advancing renewable energy solutions, promoting sustainability, and addressing environmental and climate challenges across the Arab region. The discussion will focus on leveraging scientific research and innovation to develop clean energy solutions and strengthen universities’ contributions to sustainable development. Among the distinguished participants is Dr. Tadhg O’Donovan from Heriot-Watt University Dubai. The session will be moderated by Ms. Maya Haddad, Senior Sustainability Manager at Ajman University. Prof. Dr. Majdi will also participate in the Presidents’ Roundtable, which will address the alignment of higher education outcomes with evolving labor market requirements amid environmental challenges and limited resources. The discussion will explore opportunities for academic collaboration and strategies for advancing higher education in response to global transformations.
