Almustaqbal University Council Holds Its Twelfth Session to Review Key Achievements and Preparations for the New Academic Year

The Council of Almustaqbal University held its twelfth session for the 2025-2026 academic year, chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and attended by members of the University Council. The meeting addressed a number of academic, scientific, and administrative matters, while also reviewing the University’s most prominent achievements during the past academic year and its early preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year. At the beginning of the session, the President of the University delivered a guiding speech in which he praised the efforts of faculty members, employees, students, and all University departments, commending the significant achievements made throughout the academic year and their contribution to strengthening Almustaqbal University’s position at both the national and international levels. The Council reviewed the University’s notable accomplishments in scientific research and national and international rankings, in addition to the institutional and programmatic accreditation obtained by several colleges and departments. These achievements reflect the University’s continued commitment to enhancing quality standards and advancing its academic and institutional performance. The meeting also highlighted Almustaqbal University’s recent achievement in securing an **Erasmus+ grant**, representing an important step toward expanding international academic cooperation and partnerships, promoting the exchange of expertise, and strengthening engagement with universities and academic institutions worldwide. The Council further discussed a number of scientific, academic, and community activities organized by the University, as well as initiatives aimed at serving society and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized the importance of continuing to support high-quality initiatives related to community service and sustainable development. He praised the efforts of academic and administrative staff and students in implementing programs and activities that strengthen the University’s scientific and social role. The session was also attended by the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in Babylon, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, who extended his congratulations to the University Presidency and Council on the occasion of Almustaqbal University receiving the **Erasmus+ grant**, while also praising the University’s scientific and academic achievements. The Council discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Almustaqbal University and the Academics Syndicate and reviewed mechanisms for developing this cooperation. Discussions also addressed employment opportunities for postgraduate degree holders through coordination with the Syndicate in accordance with the needs of the University’s colleges, departments, and academic specializations. As part of preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year, the President of the University directed the relevant departments to complete all academic, technical, and administrative requirements at an early stage and to ensure the readiness of the university environment, services, and facilities for an organized and effective start to the new academic year. The University Council reaffirmed the importance of continuing the path of development and excellence, strengthening coordination among all University departments, and promoting teamwork in order to achieve further qualitative accomplishments and reinforce Almustaqbal University’s position as an academic institution committed to leadership and excellence in education, scientific research, and community service.
