The Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, continues to strengthen its international research presence through the outstanding scientific achievements of its faculty members in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced medical technologies. Dr. Maitham Nabil Muqaddad, Coordinator of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, in collaboration with researchers from Arak University, Islamic Republic of Iran, has published a research paper entitled: Morphology-preserving Transfer-guided GAN with Adaptive Discriminative Loss for Robust and Imbalanced ECG Arrhythmia Detection The paper was published in Computers in Biology and Medicine, a prestigious peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier, recognized internationally for its high-quality publications in artificial intelligence, biomedical computing, and medical technology. The study presents an advanced artificial intelligence framework for detecting cardiac arrhythmias from electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. The proposed approach introduces an innovative generative model (TG-MS-GAN) that preserves the morphological characteristics of ECG signals during data generation. It also integrates the EfficientNetV2-S architecture with an adaptive hybrid discriminative loss function to improve classification accuracy while effectively addressing the challenge of imbalanced medical datasets, one of the most significant issues in AI-based healthcare applications. The proposed model achieved outstanding performance across several internationally recognized benchmark datasets, attaining classification accuracies exceeding 99% in some cases while significantly improving the detection of minority classes. These results enhance the reliability of AI-assisted diagnostic systems and provide new opportunities for developing accurate and dependable digital healthcare solutions. This research represents a valuable contribution to the field of intelligent medical systems, with promising applications in wearable medical devices and smart health monitoring systems to support the early detection of cardiovascular diseases and improve the efficiency of digital healthcare. It also highlights the successful integration of artificial intelligence with biomedical engineering to advance modern healthcare technologies. The Department of Intelligent Medical Systems extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. Maitham Nabil Muqaddad on this distinguished scientific achievement and wishes him continued success, along with all department researchers, in advancing scientific research and academic excellence. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
