As part of its strategic vision toward building a smart university environment and enhancing pathways of innovation and digital transformation, Al-Mustaqbal University launched the “University Future Council for Artificial Intelligence” as an advanced academic platform dedicated to leading digital and knowledge transformation and linking education, scientific research, and entrepreneurship with future requirements and sustainable development.
The launch ceremony witnessed the participation of Professor Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea, Head of the Intelligent Medical Systems Department, highlighting the department’s scientific and academic role in supporting the university’s direction toward employing artificial intelligence technologies in educational, medical, and research fields, while keeping pace with modern technological advancements.
The announcement was made during an official ceremony attended by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, along with several academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, researchers, and specialists in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
During his speech, the University President emphasized that the establishment of the council represents a qualitative step toward building a “smart university” through the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in education, administration, scientific research, and university services, in a way that enhances the university’s competitiveness locally and internationally and supports its orientation toward the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
He also noted that the council will work on developing an integrated artificial intelligence ecosystem within the university, including smart systems for admission, registration, academic advising, and performance analysis, in addition to supporting adaptive learning, hybrid education, virtual reality technologies, intelligent simulation, and predictive analytics to support university decision-making.
The ceremony also included a specialized presentation delivered by Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, in which he reviewed the council’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives, as well as the major future tracks it will adopt in the fields of artificial intelligence, innovation, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and international partnerships.
The participation of the Head of the Intelligent Medical Systems Department in this event reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to support scientific and technological activities within the university and contribute to preparing a generation equipped with future skills and capable of employing artificial intelligence technologies in serving society and various vital sectors.
Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
