As part of enhancing environmental awareness and promoting sustainability concepts, the Women’s Affairs Unit in the Department of Smart Medical Systems – College of Science at the University of Future organized an awareness campaign titled “Water Conservation” on Wednesday, 13/5/2026, with active participation from both students and academic staff within the university campus.
The campaign was organized and supervised by the Women’s Affairs Unit coordinators: Assistant Lecturer Najat Hamid Jassim, Programmer Aya Jamal Hadi, and Programmer Huda Khudair Hani, aiming to highlight the importance of preserving water resources and the necessity of using them efficiently in light of increasing environmental challenges.
The campaign included a range of awareness activities targeting students and lecturers, where guidance was provided on methods to reduce water waste in both educational and household environments. In addition, educational posters were distributed and discussions were held on responsible consumption behaviors.
The organizers emphasized that rationalizing water consumption is one of the key pillars in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal related to clean water and sanitation. They also highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of natural resource conservation within the academic community.
The campaign witnessed positive engagement from students and faculty members, reflecting a growing level of environmental awareness and a strong willingness within the academic community to support initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and ensuring resource sustainability for future generations.
