The Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Enhancing Women’s Health,” under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, with follow-up from the department’s headship, on Thursday, 27/4/2026, with distinguished participation from the department’s students. The workshop aimed to highlight the role of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in improving the quality of healthcare provided to women, as well as raising awareness of scientific developments in this vital field. Assistant Lecturer M.M. Najat Hamid Jassim delivered a scientific lecture addressing key applications of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of gynecological diseases, medical data analysis, and health risk prediction. The workshop also included discussions on a number of ethical and technical challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the healthcare sector, reflecting the importance of responsible utilization of these advanced technologies. The event witnessed notable interaction from attending students and faculty members, who actively participated through questions and scientific discussions, emphasizing the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare development, particularly in relation to women’s health. The department’s headship affirmed its commitment to organizing such specialized scientific workshops that contribute to empowering students, enhancing their knowledge of modern technologies, and supporting their role in serving society and achieving sustainable development. This workshop comes within Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to support scientific innovation and provide an integrated educational environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
