The Intelligent Medical Systems Department at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a student project presentation on Friday, April 18, 2026, titled “Communication System for Deaf and Mute Individuals Using Arduino”, as part of Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week 2026. The exhibition was held in the Student Activities Hall within the department’s exhibition area, with the participation of several academic staff members and students.
The project aimed to employ modern technologies to serve the deaf and mute community by developing a smart system that facilitates communication and improves their quality of life, reflecting the department’s commitment to using technology for community service.
The presentation included a detailed explanation of the system’s working mechanism based on the Arduino platform. The students demonstrated how the system converts signals into understandable communication outputs, emphasizing the importance of integrating smart solutions into humanitarian applications.
The project was implemented by the following students:
Saneen Ni’mah Matar, Ali Hassan Muhammad Awda, Ali Salim Hussein, Ali Faraj Gloub, Aqeel Ali, Alaa Abbas, and Kawthar Abdul Karim.
The event witnessed notable engagement from attendees, who praised the level of innovation and the project’s importance in supporting people with disabilities, highlighting the role of student projects in providing practical solutions to societal challenges.
The department administration affirmed its commitment to supporting creative projects that serve society and enhance students’ applied skills in line with labor market needs and technological advancement.
This activity comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to promote student innovation and support impactful initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities.
