As part of the 4th Sustainability Week activities on April 14th, a specialized workshop was held by Lecturer Assistant Shahad Mahmoud Mohammed titled "Water-Energy Integration for Achieving Sustainability in Industrial Systems." The workshop highlighted the vital and complementary relationship between water and energy consumption within the industrial sector. This scientific activity aimed to explore mechanisms for enhancing operational efficiency by minimizing waste and adopting modern technical solutions that directly contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 13 (Climate Action). The session focused on presenting practical strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of industrial facilities and strengthen their capacity to adapt to green economy requirements. This took place amidst extensive engagement from attendees, who emphasized the importance of these insights in developing industrial systems that are more sustainable and efficient in resource utilization.
