Department of AI Engineering Technologies Holds a Competition on AI in Modern Warfare

The Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University—the leading private university in Iraq—organized a competition for report presentations on artificial intelligence in modern warfare. The event took place on April 1, 2026, in the Engineering Building – Main Conference Hall, in the presence of the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Lecturer Dr. Zahraa Hashim Karim. The event commenced with an opening speech delivered by the Dean, in which he emphasized the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements, particularly the applications of artificial intelligence in military fields and their impact on the future of warfare. He highlighted how these developments align with the goals of sustainable development, especially Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Following that, participating students began presenting their reports sequentially. The presentations covered various aspects of AI applications in modern warfare and were discussed interactively with the audience. This created an engaging environment for exchanging ideas, enhancing scientific understanding, and developing students’ research and analytical skills. At the conclusion of the event, the Head of the Department delivered a speech praising the students’ efforts and outstanding participation, stressing the importance of such scientific activities in refining their academic abilities. The competition concluded with honoring distinguished students and awarding them certificates of participation in recognition of their efforts and valuable contributions to the success of this scientific event.
