Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the 12th International Workshop on Green and Sustainable Universities (IWGM 2026) through the attendance of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The workshop was held at Trier University of Applied Sciences – Birkenfeld Environmental Campus in Germany, from August 24 to 27, 2026. The participation took place as part of the workshop’s activities, held under the theme “Advancing Sustainable Campuses through Governance, Digitalization, and Integrated Performance,” with the participation of a number of universities and academic institutions interested in sustainability and the development of green campuses. The workshop addressed several topics related to strengthening sustainability in higher education institutions, developing governance and digitalization practices, and improving institutional and environmental performance in line with global trends toward sustainable universities. At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his active participation and distinguished representation of Al-Mustaqbal University at this international event, reflecting the University’s presence at global academic forums focused on sustainability. This participation is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to strengthen its international presence, develop its practices in sustainability, governance, and digital transformation, and consolidate its position among Iraqi universities in global rankings and initiatives related to sustainable development.
