Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, officially launched the Lab Mentor smart laboratory education platform in the laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science. The launch was attended by Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science; Dr. Nasser Abdul-Hassan Nasser, Head of the Department of Biochemistry; and Professor Dr. Dakhil Nasser Taha, Head of the Medical Laboratories Unit. The initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing practical education and expanding the use of modern technologies in the laboratory environment. The initiative comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of transitioning toward a smart university, and reflects the University Presidency’s commitment to providing advanced technologies and digital solutions that contribute to developing the educational and training environment, ensuring the efficient and safe implementation of practical experiments, and supporting the automation of academic, administrative, and laboratory operations. The Lab Mentor platform provides comprehensive educational and instructional content that helps students become familiar with laboratory instruments and equipment, their components and functions, and the mechanisms of operation and safety requirements. It also guides students through the steps of conducting practical experiments, serving as an intelligent support tool throughout the different stages of learning and practical application. The smart platform is one of the innovative student initiatives developed by members of the Al-Mustaqbal Student Research Club, demonstrating students’ ability to apply scientific knowledge and modern technologies to develop digital solutions that serve the educational process and meet the requirements of smart higher education. The launch of the platform represents a step toward reshaping the laboratory learning experience through a more interactive and organized model that integrates technology, practical education, and automation. This approach enhances students’ proficiency in using laboratory technologies and strengthens their scientific and practical readiness. This project further reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s continued commitment to employing technology and innovation to develop its educational infrastructure and translate its vision of building a smart and sustainable university capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in higher education and providing students with an advanced learning environment supported by the latest digital solutions and smart technologies.
