The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated as part of a high-level ministerial delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, in an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The visit aimed to enhance frameworks of joint academic cooperation and activate scientific partnerships between the two brotherly countries.
The visit included a series of meetings and discussions focused on activating memoranda of understanding and advancing the level of scientific research. The delegation visited Al-Azhar University, where they met with the university leadership to explore prospects for integration in academic and research fields, as well as to strengthen the exchange of academic expertise in support of the educational process in both countries.
The delegation also followed up on joint postgraduate programs with Mansoura University, praising the successful experience between the two universities in the Master’s program in Law hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University in cooperation with Mansoura University. This program was described as a pioneering model of fruitful academic collaboration between Iraq and Egypt. Emphasis was also placed on overcoming obstacles facing researchers and expanding cooperation in rare and modern specializations.
Furthermore, the delegation held extensive meetings at the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt, discussing mechanisms for mutual recognition, academic twinning programs, and initiatives aimed at enhancing university rankings in global indexing databases.
In support of international scientific publishing, the delegation visited the regional office of Elsevier, where they reviewed the latest AI-based scientific publishing technologies (AI in Research) and explored opportunities to strengthen the global presence of Iraqi research.
The tour also included a visit to Intilaaq Company for Communications and Information Technology at Mansoura University, where the company’s team presented its key achievements in digital transformation and the development of technological infrastructure in universities and hospitals. These efforts were highly praised by the delegation as a leading model in supporting academic and medical services.
For his part, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his deep appreciation for the role played by the Deputy Minister in leading this scientific movement, emphasizing that Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in this delegation reflects its commitment to international quality standards and its continuous pursuit of providing an advanced educational and research environment through partnerships with established academic institutions.
This visit comes within the efforts of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to promote international openness, advance higher education, and achieve excellence in scientific research outputs.
