Director of Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center Honored by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

His Excellency the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Hussein Aziz Al-Mousawi, has awarded a Letter of Appreciation and Commendation to the Dean of the College of Engineering Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University and a distinguished group of its faculty and staff members in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedicated service. In line with its commitment to transferring academic knowledge into practical solutions that serve the community, and in support of national efforts toward green transition, the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center (MUCE) at Al-Mustaqbal University announces the launch of its comprehensive, free engineering consultation initiative. This initiative aims to provide technical and technological support to citizens, business owners, and institutions, enabling them to select optimal solar energy systems that meet their specific needs while ensuring maximum efficiency and economic feasibility. Our Free Engineering Consultation Services Include: Electrical Load Calculation and Analysis: Conducting specialized technical studies of current consumption rates and providing practical solutions to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs. System Sizing and Engineering Design: Determining the exact capacity and dimensions of solar systems required for various sectors, including: Residential Sector (Homes and Villas). Corporate and Government Institutions. Commercial Buildings and Facilities. Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center organized an online workshop entitled “Water and Sustainable Development”, supervised by the Director of the Center, Dr. Salwan Ubaid Waheed. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of water resources and their vital role in achieving sustainable development, as well as to discuss current challenges facing the water sector, particularly in Iraq, and ways to address them through efficient water use and conservation practices. The workshop featured lectures by: • Ms. Esraa Mohammed Hassan • Ms. Asmaa Mohammed Hameed They delivered insightful presentations covering several topics, including the importance of water conservation, causes of water waste, practical methods for preserving water in daily life, and the role of women in managing water resources and promoting environmental awareness. The workshop also addressed modern water-saving technologies such as drip irrigation and water reuse systems. Furthermore, the relationship between renewable energy and water resource management was discussed, emphasizing their integration to achieve environmental sustainability. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Center to promote environmental awareness and support sustainable practices within the community.

Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center held an online workshop entitled: “Integration of Solar Energy Systems with Smart Homes and Buildings Using the Global KNX System.” The workshop was presented by Eng. Ahmed Al-Hariri, Managing Director of Elite Engineering Company for Smart Home Systems, Solar Energy Systems, and Software Solutions. The workshop introduced solar energy systems and smart building technologies, as well as the mechanism of integrating these systems using the global KNX system. It also highlighted the key features and types of smart systems, the differences between smart systems and smart products, and discussed opportunities for professional development in this field. In addition, the workshop reviewed the available training courses in Iraq that keep pace with the evolving demands of the labor market. The workshop witnessed the participation of a number of students and individuals interested in renewable energy and smart systems. Several questions and scientific discussions were raised during the session, which enriched the topic and enhanced participants’ knowledge. At the conclusion of the workshop, Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center expressed its appreciation to the lecturer for the valuable information presented and wished the participants continued success.

Almustaqbal Energy Research Center Organizes Training Workshop on PVsyst Software

Almustaqbal Energy Research Center organized a specialized training workshop that included a lecture session on the use of PVsyst, one of the most widely used software tools for the design and analysis of photovoltaic (PV) systems. The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of using the software for designing solar energy systems and analyzing the performance of photovoltaic installations. It also covered the main factors affecting system efficiency, including solar irradiation, panel tilt angle, and climatic conditions. During the workshop, participants were guided through practical steps on how to input site data, select appropriate system components, and run simulations to obtain optimal system designs that maximize energy production. The session witnessed active engagement from participants through questions and discussions, along with practical demonstrations that enhanced their understanding of using PVsyst in renewable energy engineering projects.
