Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Majdi, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy, organized a workshop entitled “Women and Driving Change Despite Challenges” on Wednesday, April 27, 2026, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 on Gender Equality. The workshop aimed to highlight the pivotal role of women in society and their importance in driving change at both the social and economic levels, as well as the impact of this role on shaping future generations. It also emphasized women’s proven ability to contribute positively and effectively across various fields. In addition, the workshop addressed the key challenges that hinder women’s progress—including social, economic, legal, psychological, and cultural barriers—while proposing practical solutions to enhance their role and empowerment. The workshop included a dedicated session on “The Economic Empowerment of Iraqi Women,” presented ضمن the framework of the executive plan of the National Strategy for Iraqi Women. This session underscored the importance of supporting women’s economic participation as a key driver of sustainable development. The event witnessed strong engagement from female staff members and students, reflecting a growing interest in women’s empowerment issues, given that women represent a fundamental pillar in building societies and driving change despite the various challenges they face. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Bara’a Ali Makki Alwan from the College of Pharmacy. #Ranked_first_among_private_universities_in_Iraq
