Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College / Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness-oriented scientific workshop on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, entitled “Environmental Energy and Investment Opportunities.” The workshop was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Salah Hadi. This activity was conducted in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). It also corresponds with the 2026 Executive Plan of the Iraqi National Strategy for Women, specifically the third pillar on the protection of women and addressing violence against them, through the implementation of awareness programs aimed at empowering women and enhancing their access to sustainable economic opportunities. The workshop addressed several scientific and awareness-focused themes, including the concept of environmental energy and its key sustainable sources, in addition to introducing the fundamentals of occupational safety and the preventive measures required in engineering work environments. This contributed to raising students’ awareness of the importance of safe and responsible energy use. The session witnessed active engagement from students through discussions and questions, which helped reinforce scientific concepts and link theoretical knowledge with practical applications. The workshop also highlighted the importance of adhering to occupational safety procedures to minimize workplace risks, as well as the role of clean energy in environmental protection and the achievement of sustainable development. The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness and strengthen the culture of occupational safety among students, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified engineering graduates capable of addressing environmental and professional challenges with efficiency and responsibility. This workshop forms part of the ongoing efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University to implement scientific and awareness programs that support sustainable development, enhance the role of women in scientific and engineering fields, and reinforce professional values within the academic environment. #Ranked_first_among_private_universities_in_Iraq
