“Empowering Engagement: Women’s Affairs Division Highlights Sustainability Week with Creative and Cultural Activities”

The Women’s Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Handicrafts Department of the Babylon Directorate of Education, organized a special exhibition of traditional and folkloric crafts during Al-Mustaqbal University’s Sustainability Week. The event, held on April 19, 2025, in the Student Activities Hall, featured the participation of students from various departments. It showcased the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the province, reflecting a vital part of its cultural identity. This initiative aimed to enhance the artistic and manual skills of the participants, promote cultural exchange within the university community and its visitors, and provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and cultural experiences.

Awareness and Educational Campaign Entitled: “Combat Domestic Violence”

Al-Mustaqbal University, through the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness and educational campaign in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Sustainability Committee at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies – Department of Computer Techniques Engineering, under the title “Combat Domestic Violence,” supervised by (Asst. Prof. Dr. Noor Abdul Kareem, Asst. Lecturer Zahraa Hazem, Asst. Lecturer Zainab Kazem, and Asst. Lecturer Saif Ali), on April 19, 2025, as part of the Participation and Institutional Reform Pillar, paragraph (4). The campaign stressed the importance of combating domestic violence and raising awareness of its dangers to society. Informational brochures were distributed, explaining methods to reduce and prevent domestic violence and highlighting its negative impact on children’s behavior, health, and development within society. This activity aims to achieve the Third, Fifth, and Tenth Goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“An Awareness Campaign Entitled: Developing Children’s Values and Instilling the Spirit of Cooperation and Respect Among Them

Al-Mustaqbal University – Women’s Affairs Division Awareness Campaign in Collaboration with the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Dental Industry As part of the implementation of the Institutional Participation and Reform Pillar (Clause 2), the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Dental Industry, organized an awareness campaign entitled: “Developing Children’s Values and Instilling the Spirit of Cooperation and Respect Among Them” The campaign was held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Bint Al-Huda Primary School for Girls in Al-Hilla City, under the supervision of the Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, and with the participation of Dr. Dhifaf Kamel Kazem Al-Dhahab along with a group of third-year students. The campaign aimed to promote mutual respect among children in their daily interactions both inside and outside the school, and to foster the spirit of cooperation and teamwork by encouraging academically strong students to assist their peers with weaker academic performance. The campaign also encouraged participatory activities and instilled moral values such as tolerance through the distribution of child-friendly educational images and verbal awareness sessions.

Awareness Campaign Titled: “ALmusyaqbal Message to You”

The almustaqbal University (Women’s Affairs Division) organized an awareness campaign in collaboration with the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Technologies, titled “The Future’s Message to You”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan, Head of the Division, and executed by Asst. Lecturer Hemen Walid Mathloum and Ms. Shahad Nawras Abbas on March 24, 2025. As part of the implementation of the prevention and protection pillar, awareness messages were distributed within the university campus to female students and staff. The campaign aimed to educate women about their legal rights and social justice. One of the campaign’s slogans was: “Knowing your rights is power… so you can secure your future with confidence.” The initiative sought to emphasize the importance of women’s legal awareness, particularly regarding their rights and social justice. Through education, the campaign aimed to promote social justice by reinforcing that Iraqi laws and the constitution also guarantee women’s rights.

Awareness Campaign Titled: “Promoting a Healthy Work Environment that Achieves Gender Equality”

almustaqbal University (Women’s Affairs Division) Organizes a Brochure Distribution Campaign in Collaboration with the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Technologies Under the title “Promoting a Healthy Work Environment that Achieves Gender Equality,” and with the follow-up of the Women’s Affairs Unit in the department, this campaign was launched as part of the Pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform (Clause No. 5: Gender Equality + Clause No. 10: Reducing Inequalities). Supervised by Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, and implemented by Assistant Lecturer Heman Walid Mazloum and Ms. Shahd Nawras Abbas, the campaign took place on March 23, 2025. Brochures were distributed within the university campus to female students, aiming to raise awareness of women’s legal rights and social justice. The campaign also emphasized that Iraqi law guarantees women’s rights in the workplace. The campaign’s slogan was: “Knowing Your Rights is Power… So You Can Secure Your Future with Confidence.” Through this awareness initiative, social justice was reinforced by highlighting the fact that laws safeguard women’s rights. The campaign successfully contributed to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 5, No. 10, and No. 16

A Tree-Planting Campaign at Al-Mustaqbal University

The Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a tree-planting campaign on the university campus on the occasion of World Tree Planting Day, under the supervision of Ms. Rusul Fawzi Karim and Ms. Rayahin Abdul Nasser, on March 17, 2025. This initiative falls under the Protection and Prevention Pillar (Clause 8) to enhance the natural beauty of our university, raise environmental awareness among students, provide a calmer study environment, and achieve ecological balance. The campaign also offers students an opportunity to participate in volunteer activities, fostering teamwork and social responsibility. Being in a green environment helps create a more peaceful study atmosphere, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression while also boosting productivity. Al-Mustaqbal University ranks first among private universities.
