Al-Mustaqbal University announced a new academic achievement after securing first place among Iraqi private universities and third place among all Iraqi universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities 2026–2027 rankings, reflecting the university’s continuous progress in scientific research and academic excellence This accomplishment follows the release of the global ranking results, which included eight Iraqi universities. Al-Mustaqbal University ranked third nationally, outperforming all participating Iraqi private universities The university also demonstrated a strong presence at the Asian level, achieving 568th place in Asia, in addition to attaining advanced positions in several scientific disciplines. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Reading, United Kingdom, as part of the university’s efforts to expand its international partnerships and strengthen academic and research cooperation with leading global educational institutions The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, along with a number of officials and academics from the University of Reading. The meeting included discussions on avenues for enhancing joint cooperation in scientific, academic, and research fields The memorandum included exploring the possibility of launching joint academic programs and dual-degree schemes, as well as examining scholarship opportunities and facilities available to students. As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to developing entrepreneurial skills and enhancing the capabilities of its staff in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, a number of employees from the Scientific Affairs Department successfully completed an Entrepreneurship Training Course held from June 7 to June10, 2026 The course was attended by Mr. Mahdi Anwer Muneer and Ms. Israa Kareem from the Scientific Affairs Department. Al-Mustaqbal University has strengthened its international academic presence by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and research collaboration agreement with the University of Nottingham during an official visit to the United Kingdom by the University President, Professor Hassan Shakir Majdi.
