Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Safety and Security Division

The Chemical, Biological, Radiological Safety, Security Division was established in private universities in accordance with the directives of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued on 28/02/2024 in line with governmental universities. Administratively the Division is affiliated with the Office of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs. The Division is responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of chemical, biological, and radiological safety and security procedures within the university. It is also entrusted with implementing and following up on the tasks of the university committee responsible for controlling the handling and circulation of hazardous and toxic chemical and biological materials available within the university and its colleges. In addition, the Division monitors radiation protection procedures and promotes a safe working environment within laboratories in accordance with the approved ministerial regulations and guidelines. The Division aims to promote the concepts of safety and security preserve the university environment and ensure the safe use of materials and laboratories in a manner that supports and enhances the educational and research process.

  vision

To establish a safe and stimulating laboratory and educational environment that promotes learning, free from chemical, biological, and radiological hazards, in a manner that ensures the safety of students and staff and supports the sustainability of the educational process.

  Mission

The division seeks to protect students and laboratory personnel through the implementation of safety regulations, the proper organization and use of materials and equipment, the promotion of preventive awareness, and ensuring compliance with approved instructions and standards.

  Objective

1. To provide a safe laboratory environment for students during practical lessons. 2. To reduce accidents and injuries inside educational laboratories. 3. To regulate the safe handling of chemical, biological, and radiological materials. 4. To raise students’ awareness of laboratory safety culture. 5. To ensure compliance with wearing and using personal protective equipment (PPE). 6. To protect the university environment from the risks of laboratory waste. 7. To enhance rapid response to emergency situations inside laboratories. 1. Achieving the ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems using the principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. Applying engineering design principles to produce practical solutions that meet community needs, while considering health, safety, environmental, sustainability, and economic factors. 2010 الم 3.
