Part of the Permanent Coordination that leads to achieving integration between the University and State Ministries, Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has received in His Office a High-Level Delegation representing Ministry of Environment headed by Dr. Chasib Latif Ali Al-Hejami, Director General of Environmental Protection & Improvement in the Middle Euphrates Governorates, as well as Engineer Mr. Makki Hadi Omran, Director of Environment at Babylon Governorate, in addition to a number of Stakeholders.
The Visit has aimed to get acquainted with the University Projects and Initiatives related to protecting and improving Environment, including preservation of Biological Diversity, both Agricultural and Animal, Sustainable Green Transportation, and the use of Solar Energy, being considered as one of the most important Renewable Energies in Iraq, in addition to increasing Green Spaces in order to reduce Desertification and face the Challenges of Climate Change.
It is remarkable to note that Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has welcomed the Visiting Delegation, pointing out in his Speech that the University has adopted the Slogan "Towards a Sustainable University" as this concept includes sustainability in all its basic aspects, Environmental, Economic and Social. As a matter of fact, Al-Mustaqbal University has paid special attention to Environmental Sustainability, being practically embodied through Real Initiatives implemented on the ground that has led the University to occupy First Place among its Counterparts of other Universities in Rankings related to Sustainability and Environmental Issues, most notably TIMES IMPACT Ranking and the GREEN METRIC.
For his part, Dr. Chasib Latif Ali Al-Hejami, Director General of Environmental Protection & Improvement in the Middle Euphrates Governorates, has sincerely appreciated all the efforts exerted by Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Academics, and Affiliates that have resulted in an Attractive and Sustainable University Environment, which could be taken as a Typical Model to be emulated in all State Institutions.
Finally, we are obliged to note that the Visiting Delegation has been taken in a Field Tour through the University Campus, accompanied by Prof Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at the University Presidency, in addition to Mr. Ridha Shakir, Director of Diwan Affairs, who has provided a comprehensive explanation of the University Initiatives in the Field of Environment
