art of enhancing the role of women in the Fields of Information & Communication Technology, Women Affairs Division, in cooperation with College of Engineering & Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University, has organized a Celebration on the occasion of
"The International Girls in ICT Day"
It is remarkable to note that the Ceremony has included a Speech delivered by Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of the Engineering College, in which he has emphasized the importance of Women Leadership & Innovation in the Field of ICT, and their Vital Role in Academic and University Progress.
After that another Speech has been delivered by Prof Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, Head of Women Affairs Division, in which she has confirmed the vitality of inspiring and supporting women who seek Excellence in the Fields of Computer Software, Engineering, Project Management, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence.
Besides, there has been a Presentation as well, addressing Success Stories of Women at Al-Mustaqbal University / ICT Department, with a Documentary Film highlighting their Research & Innovative Projects via the permanent types of support provided to them by Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the University President.
At the end of the Celebration, Creative and Distinguished Women have been honored with Shields and Certificates of Appreciation.
We should note after all that this Event comes as part of the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research with the aim of enhancing Iraqi Women Role in the Technical Community, being highly affirmed by University’s Commitment to supporting and empowering Women at Higher Education & Scientific Research.
