Under the Guardianship of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, being directly Supervised by Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, with the Presence of Dr. Ammar Al-Zubaidi, Director of Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a Meeting for Heads of Student Activities Departments at Iraqi Universities has been convened at Al-Mustaqbal University Campus, being attended by 60 Public & Private Universities. The Meting has aimed to discuss the Second Semester Program of Student Activities for the Academic Year 2023-2024.
The Meeting Sessions have been launched with the performance of the Iraqi National Anthem and reading Surat Al-Fatiha on the Souls of the Iraqi Martyrs. After that, a Speech has been delivered by Assist Prof Dr. Munthir Fadhil Hassan, the President Assistant for Administrative Affairs, on behalf of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, in which he has welcomed all Distinguished Guests and Attendees.
During the Meeting, Dr. Ammar Al-Zubaidi has reviewed the Activities that have already been accomplished within the First Semester and discussing the Program for the Second Semester, which includes a variety of Activities, Cultural, Sports, Artistic, and Scouting.
We should note however that the purpose of organizing this Meeting is to get acquainted with the most important achievements that have been accomplished by Student Activities Departments during the First Semester, in addition to highlighting all obstacles that have been faced in order to develop appropriate solutions that would help avoid any negatives cases that might rise during the Second Semester. A number of Suggestions and Recommendations have been raised as well that would improve Work of Students Activities.
Dr. Al-Zubaidi has also emphasized the need to intensify Internal Activities of all Iraqi Universities due to their importance in embracing and nurturing Students' Sporting, Scouting and Artistic Talents. Activities indeed shall be expanded to include Theatrical Performances, Painting Exhibitions, Poetry, and Public Speaking.
Finally, we are obliged to note that Attendees have expressed their Thanks and Gratitude to Al-Mustaqbal University for organizing and hosting the Activities of this Expanded Meeting.
