Part of the Research Project Requirements, which focus on "the Role of Universities in Confronting Climate Change, and under Direct Supervision of His Excellency Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Scientific Affairs Department, in Cooperation with Anesthesia Techniques Department and Directorate of Agriculture in Babylon, has organized an Afforestation Campaign that has aimed to addressing the Challenges of Climate Change.
However, it should be noted that the Campaign has included planting 160 trees of different types, such as Eucalyptus, Casuarina, Didonia, and Albizia. This joint effort indeed does reflect the University Vision, which necessitates taking effective steps towards improving Environment in Iraq, and thus highlighting its Prominent Role in the confrontation of Environmental Challenges.
It is worth noting that the plants have been chosen with great care, taking into consideration Water Consumption and the capability for resisting drought. These efforts after all come as part of the University's Endeavor to achieve Leadership in the implementation of High-Quality Projects that effectively serve Babylon Governorate to carry out the various aspects of Sustainability. It is non-deniable that such initiatives do reflect the University's commitment to perform Influential and Sustainable Contributions in the Field of Environmental Protection at Local and National Levels.
