Al-Mustaqbal University, and during the whole year of 2023, has continued its Unprecedented Progress at International, Arab and Local Rankings, with its Presidency is still exerting all types of efforts, Practical, Administrative and Scientific, so as to proceed with its Distinguished Accomplishments that can be easily reflected in the Advanced Positions at all Rankings that have been realized, especially after being transferred by Ministerial Orders from College to University. There is no doubt that the University has achieved Progress at all Educational Fields, including Research Publication, Social Performance, International Citations, Research Quality, Academic Reputation, as well as Level of its Graduates at the Local Employment Index, in addition to its ability for raising strong and influential competition with the other Institutions. As a matter of fact, Al-Mustaqbal University has managed to outperform many of these Universities due to Strength of its Programs, its highly Qualified Academics, the notable Quality of its Curricula, and the Efficiency of its Educational Process. All this indeed has led our University to occupy a Leading Position among Iraqi Universities.
However, Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has reviewed a Report, which covers the University’s Achievements during 2023, starting with the transformation of the College into a University, to include nowadays 11 Colleges and 34 Departments in various Scientific Majors. At the level of Research, it has achieved First Place in the number of Research Papers Published on Scopus Engines. These Achievements do comprise the following as given by the University President:
1. In April 2023, Al-Mustaqbal University College has been transformed into Al-Mustaqbal University, including 11 Colleges and 34 Scientific Departments in various Scientific Majors.
2. His Excellency, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, paid a visit in June 2023 to Al-Mustaqbal University, where he has opened a number of Educational Buildings, including Pharmacy & Dentistry Building, Student Club, Humanities and Diwan Building, in addition to Laying the Foundation Stone for a number of buildings, which has included the University Presidency, Energy Research Center, and others that shall lead to expanding the University Campus Area with is Green Spaces and Playgrounds. We should keep in mind after all the permanent efforts exerted by the Engineering Department in constructing and developing buildings in order to create an Attractive University and Appropriate Study Environment.
3. Regarding Published Research, Al-Mustaqbal University has managed to achieve First Place in the number of Research Papers published on Scopus Engines, with 3,200 Research Papers, whereas its Rank in the Scientific Publishing has advanced to 15 at the level of Iraq, being 29 before that. Besides, we have also achieved advancement in the Publishing Density, and the H-Index has increased to 44 after it has been only 23 at the beginning of the Year.
4. Al-Mustaqbal University has been recognized as being the First, and managed in maintaining its Top Positions at Local as well as International Rankings, including the Iraqi National Classification, the Excellence Award, First at Sustainability Rankings, First in Arab Region University Rankings 2023, and First in the Global Rankings of Scimago, RuR, Webometrics, Green Matrix, and Time Impact.
5. Al-Mustaqbal University has succeeded to establish a Postgraduate Program with the Malaysian USM University, being the first Private University to introduce Postgraduate Studies in Iraq.
6. The Efforts exerted by you all, including University Leaders, Security Personnel, and all Academics, Employees, Workers shall continue to ensure the continuation of achieving Excellence at all Fields of Education.
7. We have been ranked First for Student Activities, Rehabilitation & Employment, in addition to Cultural Relations with Local and International Universities.

We do believe that a Wise and Visionary Administration can turn Crises and Challenges into Opportunities and Successful Initiatives. We have realized the appropriate solutions and succeeded in creating National and International Reputation, achieving the required Quality of Higher Education, concluding Local as well as International Agreements, and last but not the least, supporting Scientific Research, whereas at the Personal Level, being the University President, I have published more than 200 Research Papers on Scopus Engines.
In conclusion, I am obliged to commemorate our dear and loved ones who have passed away during 2023. We should confirm that they have had a great impact and effort in establishing and building this Scientific Edifice, and namely they are the Late Mr. Hussein Majdi, the Late Prof Dr. Abdallah Al-Sudani, the Late Mr. Karim Al-Dulaimi, and the Late Prof. Dr. Qasim Al-Sudani, and we do Recite Surat Al-Fatiha to their Souls.
Finally, I pray to God Almighty to protect us all, and have Mercy on all of Our Dead and Martyrs, wishing you all with our Students Continued Health and Wellness... and for more Achievements and Progress.
