It is considerable to note that Al-Mustaqbal University has participated in the Fourth Meeting of the Supreme Sustainable Development Committee at Babylon Governorate, which was convened on Wednesday 27th December 2023 at Al-Qasim Green University. The Meeting has been attended on behalf of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Engineer Mr. Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, Head of Sustainable Development Division at the University, being Member and Rapporteur of the Committee.
We would like to note however that at the beginning of the Meeting, Mr. Al-Salihi has conveyed the Greetings of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the University President to the Committee Members, wishing them success in achieving all what is required to serve our People in Babylon Governorate. Besides, an invitation has been extended to the Committee Members to attend and participate in the Activities of “Sustainability Week" that will be organized by Al-Mustaqbal University next February.
During the Meeting, the topics included in the Committee’s Agenda has been widely discussed, with a main focus on the Climate Change and its vital impact on Desertification, Water Sustainability, Preservation of Water Bodies, Biodiversity and Air Pollution, in addition to addressing the problem of Informal Housing and Waste Recycling. Moreover, the issue of allocating Financial Resources by the Governorate Office has been taken into consideration as well. Finally, the Meeting has been concluded with a number of Recommendations that shall be scheduled for implementation.
