Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, being supervised by Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, Women Empowerment Division has organized a Cultural Forum on
"Violence against Women"
It is remarkable to note that this activity coincides with the 16-Day Campaign of Violence Combat against Women, with the participation of the Iraqi Teachers’ Association in Babylon, Karbala and Najaf Governorates. It should be noted as well that "Together for a Better Life Foundation" has participated in presenting a Play, in which all types of violence committed against women have been effectively embodied.
The Forum has been focusing on several issues including the following:
Consolidation ​​of Coexistence Values, being friendly with everybody, and rejecting all types of violence.
Creating an educational environment, in which Positive Family-Teachers Relationship can be established, and thus promoting Awareness against Violence.
Negative effects of Violence against Women on both Family & Children.
Spread of Respect Culture among people, especially towards women, being a basis for building a balanced society.
There is no doubt that Violence against Women shall lead to disrupting the Creative Energies of half the society.
Finally, we should keep in mind that one of the main objectives of the Forum has been to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 5: Gender Equality.
