Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University as well as Assist Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abid, Dean of Engineering College, with the Direct Supervision of Assist Prof Dr. Hamza Muhammad Ridha Yahya, Head of Bio-Medical Engineering Department, a Scientific Visit has been organized to Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital that is located in Karbala Governorate.
It is remarkable to note that the Visit has been organized to Fifth Year Students, being conducted by the Department Academics Mr. Mahir Rahman Abdul Ameer, Ms. Zainab Sattar and Engineer Ms. Dhuha Hussein, and has been aiming to implement the University's Vision, regarding the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 4: Quality Education” and SDG 17: Partnerships for other Goals.
The Delegation of Academics and Students have been received by the Director of Training Department, in addition to the Head of Relations Department at the Hospital, where they have been introduced through a Presentation to the history of the Hospital Establishment, the Services provided to Patients, and the Medical Cooperation of Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital with other Medical Institutions.
After that, the Students have divided into seven groups, and each group has been assigned to collect and record the Scientific Information related to the following issues:
Medical Equipment & Technology used in the Hospital
Infection & Pollution Control Procedures
The Hospital’s Electronic Health Record System
Laboratory Tests provided, with the Technology used in these Laboratories
Medical Waste Management inside the Hospital
Medical Gas System used inside the Hospital
Finally, we are obliged to note that this visit comes as part of the Academic Program of the Fifth Year, where Students will be assigned later to prepare a Detailed Report on each of the aforementioned issues.
