Launch of Entrepreneurship Week at Al-Mustaqbal University

Under the Guardianship of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Division of Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up has organized the Activities of Entrepreneurship Week & Riyada Initiative Workshops on Monday Morning 13th November 2023, with the attendance of a number of Universities, Colleges, Institutions, Private Sector Companies, Industrial Development and Trainees.
In his Speech, Prof Dr. Haidar Al-Dulaimi, Dean of Administrative Sciences College at Al-Mustaqbal University, has clarified that the University is implementing certain Training Programs & Workshops for the purpose of empowering Students and Graduates. The issue of Unemployment and its effect on the Iraqi economy has been taken into consideration, simply, because Unemployment among Graduates is deemed one of the most important indicators of the Structural Imbalances, being clearly reflected in the Labor Market.
It is remarkable to note that Dr. Yasar Al-Sudani, Head of Young Leaders Foundation for Sustainable Development and Digital Transformation, has been present during the First Day Activities, in which the issue of creating a Network of Influential Young Leaders & Businessmen has been widely discussed. We should note that Engineer Hisham Khalid, Head of the House of Hikma Consulting and Training Company has been present as well. Moreover, attendees have focused in their discussions on the efforts exerted to reduce the gap between Theoretical & Applied Competencies so as to provide Graduates with the required Confidence with which they would enhance their chances of obtaining suitable jobs.
For his part, Mr. Hussein Al-Subari has clarified that the possibility of providing Entrepreneurship Opportunities to Students would support those who move towards entrepreneurship with an idea that can be turned into reality. In addition, Ms. Huda Qasim Khaz'al, an officer of Small Enterprise Support at the Ministry of Industry, has confirmed the importance of developing the necessary capabilities for Entrepreneurship and the Influential Developmental Value that might result from such process.
Attendees in general have emphasized a number of points, the most important of which is the need to educate both Academics and Students about Entrepreneurship, and to provide more support to distinctive ideas. In conclusion, Ms. Rusul Star Badr has confirmed that Student and Graduate Projects shall be supported and funded with the possibility of being applied at institutions. At the end of the workshop, the most prominent innovative Engineering Projects and Scientific Productions of both Students and Academics at Al-Mustaqbal University have been identified and exhibited.
