Industrial Advisory Council of Engineering College Convenes its First Meeting

In reference to the Directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Al-Mustaqbal University Presidency, which have included the formation of Industrial Advisory Councils at Private Colleges, the Industrial Advisory Council of the Engineering College was convened on Sunday 22nd October 2023 at the College Deanship, being headed by its Chairman Assist Prof Dr. Azher M. Abid with the attendance of his Deputy Prof Dr. Muhammad Al-Ma'mouri and the Council Members as well as Representatives of both Public & Private Sectors.
The Meeting has started with a Speech delivered by the Council Chairman in which he has welcomed all Members, noting that Al-Mustaqbal University has been the first to establish this Council as per the Directives of Higher Education Ministry. In addition, the Chairman Council has emphasized the necessity to adopt all bases that might reinforce Scientific as well as Industrial Progress through the adoption of the University Program that shall undoubtedly lead to graduating distinguished engineers who will be the Pioneers of Future Projects. He added that the Council is committed to find Technical & Scientific Solutions to any problems that Companies might suffer from.
Several issues have been discussed during the Meeting. These issues can be summarized as follows:
1. Increasing both Theoretical & Practical Training of Students, and enabling them to work in the Field of Engineering at Private and Public Sectors.
2. Cooperating with the Companies of Textile, Tire, Al-Furat, and Karbala Refinery, regarding Student Projects.
3. Establishing a Technological Incubator at Al-Mustaqbal University that shall support Innovators and Patent Holders, including both Academics as well as Students, and starting Small or Medium Projects, being approved by the University President, with a detailed report that has to be submitted by Consultant Mr. Alaa Hamza.
4. Attempting to identify Companies' Problems at both Private and Public Sectors, exploring the possibility of finding reasonable solutions as recommended by the College Experts.
5. Preparing a Work Plan to be utilized for the Council Annual Assessment.
6. The Deputy Chairman of the Council has requested all Members to submit Proposals and Problem Solutions after the formation of Research Teams that shall pay visits to Factories and diagnose and classify these problems to be Bachelor’s Degree Projects, Master’s Dissertations, Doctoral Theses, or Joint Research between University Academics and those Companies Researchers
