Part of the University Strategic Program to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, and in implementation to the Directives of Prof Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, we would like to note that our University, being represented by Dr. Jabir Ghayib, an Academic at College of Engineering & Technology, has participated in the Third Conference of Arab & Russian Universities that has been convened for two days at Sharjah University, and in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Arab Universities Association.
It is considerable to note that the Conference has been attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, Minister of Education at the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Victor Antonovitch, President of Moscow University, in addition to a number of Arab Ministers of Education, Presidents of more than 70 Russian & UAE Universities, as well as Representatives of more than 150 Arab Universities coming from 21 Arab Countries.
The Conference has discussed several issues, including Scientific Research, Reinforcement of Cooperation between Arab and Russian Universities in Joint Academic Programs, Russian, Arab, and International Rankings, Exchange of Experiences, which comprise Students Training, Sports Activities, in addition to keeping pace with the Digital Transformation at Higher Education due to Constant Developments in the Field of Technology and Application of Artificial Intelligence. Several Recommendations have raised at the end of the Conference, mainly focusing on promoting Arab Russian Communication and increasing number of Scholarships given to Arab Universities, though for now there are more than 50 thousand Arab Students do study at Russian Universities.
Finally, we are obliged to note that during the Conference, a Scientific & Academic Cooperation Agreement has been signed between Al-Mustaqbal University and Sharjah University.
